Overview of 2010 Chevrolet Equinox LT1 AWD By Michael Perkins
With its standard 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine or optional 3.0-liter V6, six-speed automatic and all-wheel-drive system, the 2010 Chevrolet Equinox LT1 AWD is geared more for efficiency and stability than off-road prowess, even with its traction control, anti-skid, and hill ascent control. That shouldn’t stop you from driving right up on the grass to your campsite, though. Pile up your sleeping bags and tent on the roof rails, and don’t worry about getting lost. You’ve got a compass and trip computer, not to mention rear privacy glass, so no one can see all that choice gear you brought. Heated power mirrors mean you’ll still be able to see on cold, frosty mornings, and power windows and door locks should do their part to keep bears out. Remote keyless entry means you won’t have to fumble with your keys when looking for a midnight snack, and illuminated visor mirrors allow you to check your bug bites even at night. If you get bored, there’s a satellite-ready CD and MP3 player, with a digital-media player connection so everyone can get a turn listening to their favorite music. If you get in trouble, one year of OnStar service is included as well. No need to swelter on the ride up, since air conditioning is standard, and if you get rained out, there are variable-intermittent front wipers and a rear wiper and washer combo with defogger to handle the inclement weather. For the ride home, the driver’s seat has height and lumbar adjustability and a tilt and telescoping steering wheel, in case your back isn’t up for the drive. 17-inch alloy wheels allow style with substance in the form of four-wheel antilock disc brakes, not to mention a brake assist system. There are dual front, front-side, and curtain-side airbags, along with daytime running lights and automatic headlights.
This overview covers the LT1 AWD trim only.
