Overview of 2010 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 1ZR By Michael Perkins
With a supercharged 6.2-liter V8, you won’t be wanting for power in the Corvette ZR1, and its more-aggressive gear and axle ratios make sure you'll get full use of it, depending on which six-speed transmission you choose. Several features are added to make that power of use, like traction control, a limited-slip differential, and the widest tires available on a Corvette for the 18-inch front and 19-inch rear alloys, all wrapped in run-flat tires. The ZR1 also gets a performance suspension that includes Chevy’s Magnetic Selective Ride Control.
Automatic Xenon headlights, daytime running lights, and foglights provide plenty of illumination, and intermittent front wipers and a rear defogger keep the view clear from the inside. Illuminated visor mirrors, an automatically dimming rearview, and heated power side mirrors should take up the rest of the slack. Power windows and door locks are standard, along with remote keyless entry, access, and start. Look to leather bucket seats for comfort, including a 6-way power driver’s seat. Additional adjustment comes in the form of a leather-wrapped tilt steering wheel that includes controls for the cruise and the satellite-ready CD and MP3 player, which comes with a digital-media-player connection.
The driver also enjoys a tachometer, compass, outside-temperature indicator, and customizable head-up display. Upgraded four-wheel antilock disc brakes provide stopping power, and additional safety features include an anti-skid system, theft-deterrent system, and dual front and side airbags.
This overview covers the ZR1 1ZR trim only.
