Beautiful But Sinister By lawolfe

There is simply nothing bad to say about this car. It is my first Callaway and I am already looking to upgrade into a Z06 package next year. The folks up at Callaway HQ (in Old Lyme CT) really know ... Read More

Overview of 2010 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport 1LT By Michael Perkins

The newest trim for the Corvette, one not seen in the lineup since the mid-'90s, offers several upgrades over the Base. The 2010 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport comes with the same 6.2-liter V8, but with additional heavy-duty engine cooling and specific gear and axle ratios, depending on which six-speed transmission you select. The 18-inch front and 19-inch rear alloys are both wider, and the four-wheel antilock disc brakes have been upgraded as well. Traction control and a limited-slip differential are aided by an anti-skid system to make sure things don’t get out of hand. The suspension has been upgraded as well, so cornering will be just as exciting as accelerating.

And you’ll do it in comfort with leather bucket seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and an AM/FM/CD and MP3 player that is both satellite-ready and comes with a digital-media-player connection. In order to help find a good driving position, the leather-wrapped steering wheel tilts, and the driver’s seat is a 6-way power unit. Cruise control is standard, as are power windows, doors, and remote keyless entry, access, and start. A tachometer, compass, and outside temperature indicator are also supplied for the driver’s convenience, as well as a center console, floormats, and one year of OnStar.

Outside you’ll find foglights, daytime running lights, and automatic Xenon headlights, a body-colored removable roof panel, a unique body kit, intermittent wipers, and a rear defogger. Heated power mirrors are also included, as well as illuminated visor mirrors, run-flat tires, and several safety features like dual front and side airbags and a theft-deterrent system.

This overview covers the Grand Sport 1LT trim only.
