2010 Chevrolet Cobalt Trims

Base

Avg. Price: $9,968

The Cobalt’s Base trim is indeed base, with cloth upholstery for its front bucket seats, 15-inch steel wheels, and a lack of power throughout. It does come with one year of OnStar and satellite radio for the CD and MP3 player - which also comes with a standard digital-media player connection - but not much else. Automatic headlights are a nice feature at this level, especially when paired with the daytime running lights, as is an outside-temperature indicator.

A 2.2-liter inline four-cylinder (I4) engine is paired with a five-speed manual transmission. A tachometer is included at this level, and a combination of variable-intermittent front wipers and a rear defogger do window duty. Safety features include dual front and curtain-side airbags, a tire pressure monitor, and a theft-deterrent system.

LT1

Avg. Price: $10,813

The 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt LT1 trim is where power enters the lineup, although not in the engine, powered as it is by the 2.2-liter inline four-cylinder (I4). Rather, this is where power windows, mirrors, and door locks are first available, along with remote keyless entry. The front bucket seats still come with cloth upholstery, but the driver’s unit gains lumbar adjustment. A five-speed manual transmission comes standard here and not much else, although floormats are included with this trim. The CD and MP3 player comes with a digital-media player connection and is satellite-ready. Air conditioning is included, along with variable-intermittent front wipers, a rear defogger, tachometer, and outside-temperature indicator.

Safety features include daytime running and automatic headlights, dual front and curtain-side airbags, a tire pressure monitor, a theft-deterrent system, and one year of OnStar.

LT2

Avg. Price: $10,615

The 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt LT2 offers many upgrades and adjustments, like antilock brakes for its larger 16-inch alloy wheels, a four-speed automatic transmission, traction and cruise control, and special body side moldings to identify this upgraded trim.

The 2.2-liter inline four-cylinder (I4) engine is still the powerplant of choice, albeit with the automatic transmission here. Power windows, mirrors, and door locks, along with remote keyless entry, are included, and a satellite-ready CD and MP3 player has a digital-media player connection. Cloth upholstery still wraps the front bucket and split-folding rear seats, but the driver’s bucket comes with lumbar adjustment. Air conditioning keeps passengers cool, and when the clouds come out or the snow starts to fall, variable-intermittent front wipers and a rear defogger go to work.

Safety features include daytime running and automatic headlights, dual front and curtain-side airbags, a tire pressure monitor, a theft-deterrent system, and one year of OnStar.
