2010 Chevrolet Aveo Trims

Aveo5 LS

Avg. Price: $9,159

Chevrolet’s 2010 Aveo5 LS subcompact five-door hatchback will win few races, but a decent sticker price and at least tolerable gas mileage provide some incentive for first-time new car buyers to test the waters. The base LS trim is delivered pretty much stripped, with 14-inch wheels, a rear spoiler, cloth front bucket seats, split-folding rear seats, tilt-wheel steering, four-speaker AM/FM stereo, and Onstar telecommunications technology the extent of its standard amenities. Air conditioning and upgraded exterior paint choices are offered as available options. Cargo capacity for the Aveo5 LS, indeed for the entire Aveo5 lineup, is some 40 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. Dual-stage front airbags and dual front side-mounted airbags constitute the only standard safety features of the Aveo5.

The 2010 Aveo5 LS is powered by the standard 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder (I4) engine with its accompanying five-speed manual transmission. This is the only powertrain available for the LS lineup and will put out 108 hp and 105 lb-ft of torque. This combination is good for 27/35 mpg, according to the EPA.

Aveo5 LT

Avg. Price: $9,900

For 2010, the Chevrolet Aveo Aveo5 LT offers such added amenities as carpeted front and rear floor mats, air conditioning, and an MP3-compatible single-CD player with six speakers. Optional appearance, comfort, and convenience features for the LT trim level include 15-inch alloy wheels, daytime driving lights, remote keyless entry, power windows and door locks, and Bluetooth/Onstar communications technology with a hands-free phone.

The 2010 Aveo5 LT is powered by the standard 108-hp, 105-lb-ft/torque 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder (I4) engine, managed by the standard five-speed manual transmission. Though this pairing nets some 27/35 mpg, a four-speed automatic transmission is available for the LT with a corresponding drop in mileage to 25/34. When equipped with the optional four-speed automatic, the Aveo5 LT also offers four-wheel ABS.

Aveo5 LT2

Avg. Price: $9,623

The 2010 Chevrolet Aveo5 LT2 adds such standard appearance, comfort, and convenience features as 15-inch wheels, foglights, premium cloth upholstery, heated power mirrors, and steering-wheel-mounted audio controls to the Aveo5 equipment mix. Additional options for the LT2 include a power sunroof and leather-wrapped steering wheel.

As with the entire Aveo lineup, the 2010 Aveo5 LT2 comes with a 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder engine and standard five-speed manual transmission. The combo produces some 108 hp and 105 lb-ft of torque to the tune of 27/35 mph. With the LT2’s available four-speed automatic transmission, mileage drops to 25/34.

LS

Avg. Price: $9,413

As the base trim of the Aveo lineup, the 2010 Chevrolet Aveo LS sedan offers little in the way of creature comforts or safety features. Cloth upholstery, front bucket seats, split-folding rear seats, tilt-wheel steering, AM/FM four-speaker stereo, and Onstar technology pretty much do it for this sub-compact. Options are also sparing, with only air conditioning and upgraded paint choices available. Standard safety features, of course, mirror those of the Aveo5 LS trim.

The only powerplant for the entire Aveo lineup is a 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder (I4) that, when managed by the standard five-speed manual transmission, offers 108 hp and 105 lb-ft of torque. The EPA rates this combo at 27/35 mpg.

LT

Avg. Price: $9,698

With the midlevel 2010 Chevrolet Aveo LT sedan comes a corresponding uptick in standard comfort and convenience offerings over the LS trims. Carpeted floor mats, front and rear, as well as interior lighting, air conditioning, and a six-speaker, MP3-compatible single-CD player, make up the bulk of the LT’s goodies. Available options include remote keyless entry, power windows and door locks, cruise control, satellite radio, Bluetooth/Onstar technology, and 15-inch five-spoke aluminum wheels.

While the standard 108-hp 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder (I4) engine and five-speed manual transmission are standard with the 2010 Aveo LT, a four-speed automatic can be selected. Mileage with the five-speed manual is 27/35 mpg and the four-speed automatic gets 25/34. Additionally, the option of four-wheel ABS comes with the four-speed automatic transmission.

LT2

Avg. Price: $10,100

As with its Aveo5 sibling, the high-end 2010 Chevrolet Aveo LT2 sedan features standard 15-inch wheels, foglights, a trip computer, premium cloth upholstery, heated power outside mirrors, and steering-wheel-mounted audio controls. It also offers the available power sunroof and leather-wrapped steering wheel common to the Aveo5 LT2.

Equipped with the standard 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder (I4) engine and five-speed manual transmission, the 2010 Aveo LT2 sedan puts out 108 hp and 105 lb-ft of torque, while managing 27/35 mpg. If the available four-speed automatic is opted for, mileage drops to 25/34, but four-wheel ABS can be added for enhanced safety.
