2009 Toyota Sequoia Trims

Limited

As the midlevel trim of the Sequoia line, the full-size, eight-passenger, rear-wheel-drive 2009 Toyota Sequoia Limited SUV offers several additions to the list of standard appearance, comfort, and convenience features offered by its base SR5 siblings. Such features include foglights, running boards, heated exterior mirrors, power-adjustable front seats, a Towing Prep Package, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, trip computer, and heated leather seats. Options for the ’09 Sequoia Limited are essentially identical to those offered with the SR5 5.7L trim, including rear-seat DVD entertainment, a DVD navigation system, and a power moonroof. Standard safety features for the ’09 Sequoia Limited reflect the entire Sequoia lineup and include four-wheel ABS, traction and stability control, dual front side-mounted airbags, front, rear, and third-row head airbags, a remote anti-theft alarm system, and active front and rear head restraints.

The standard powerplant for the ’09 Sequoia Limited is the 5.7-liter DOHC V8 that's delivered with a six-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. This combo, putting out 381 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque, though potent enough to tow 9,500 pounds when properly equipped, does burn a prodigious amount of gas, getting a mere 14/19 mpg, according to the EPA.

Limited 4WD

On-demand, multi-mode four-wheel drive (4WD) characterizes the 2009 Toyota Sequoia Limited 4WD, complementing its bevy of standard features, options, and 381-hp, 401-lb-ft/torque 5.7-liter V8 engine with a standard six-speed automatic transmission. Of course, already dicey gas mileage suffers marginally further with the limited-slip, center-differential 4WD, rated at 13/18 mpg.

The ’09 Sequoia Limited 4WD is equipped identically with the rear-wheel-drive Limited, including running boards, heated mirrors, and a 6-CD changer. Options, like a power moonroof, touch-screen DVD navigation, and a rear-view backup camera reflect the rest of the Limited trims, as well.

Limited 4WD FFV

Packing a 5.7-liter V8 Flex Fuel engine, the 2009 Toyota Sequoia Limited 4WD FFT is capable of burning E85 ethanol gasoline to produce 381 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque, managed by its standard six-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. Mileage is still a corn-eating 14/19 mpg, however.

Feature-wise, the ’09 Sequoia Limited 4WD FFV is equipped with all the bells and whistles common to the Sequoia Limited trim level. Options, similarly, include the rear-view backup camera system and rear-seat DVD entertainment available to all the Limited trims.

Platinum

Toyota decided, for its seven-passenger, full-size, rear-wheel-drive 2009 Sequoia Platinum, to take all the options for the SR5 and Limited trims, including leather front bucket seats, and make them standard on the ’09 Platinum. Plus, they threw in a standard power liftgate, rear spoiler, and standard chrome exterior accents to sweeten the pot.

The ’09 Sequoia Platinum is powered by a 381-hp, 401-lb-ft/torque 5.7-liter DOHC V8 and six-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. This engine will tow up to 9,500 pounds, with its standard trailer hitch, at 14/19 mpg.

Platinum 4WD

Equip the Sequoia Platinum with the limited-slip, center mechanical differential to facilitate its on-demand, multi-mode four-wheel drive (4WD), and behold the 2009 Toyota Sequoia Platinum 4WD. This full-size, seven-passenger, five-door SUV will get the family to the campsite in comfort, with heated leather seats, in safety, with 4WD traction and control, and in good spirits, with its standard rear-seat DVD entertainment and MP3-capable 6-CD changer, among its boatload of standard features.

A standard 5.7-liter V8 engine and six-speed automatic transmission, putting out 381 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque, power the ’09 Sequoia Platinum 4WD up muddy hills and down snow-covered roads to the tune of 13/18 mpg.

Platinum 4WD FFV

Distinguishing the 2009 Toyota Sequoia Platinum 4WD FFV is, as its moniker implies, the standard 5.7-liter V8 Flex Fuel engine, allowing this full-size SUV to burn E85 ethanol gasoline. Managed by a standard six-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, the Flex Fuel V8 is capable of 381 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque at 13/18 mpg.

Equipped identically to the rest of the Platinum lineup, with a wealth of standard appearance, comfort, and convenience features, the ’09 Sequoia Platinum 4WD FFV is a corn-fed brute able to get the family to the campground or the crew to the job comfortably, and with its on-demand, multi-mode four-wheel-drive configuration, safely.
