Versatile Car For All New England Weather. — My first new car purchase, I was sold on subarus from my previous lease of an 07 Legacy. The style is great, exterior is sporty and the interior is laid out very nicely. Power drivers seat is very comfortable, although on long drives my 6' frame gets a little cramped. I liked the stereo at first, but the subwoofer has blown twice since I've owned it and I do not blast my music to extreme volumes most of the time. The design flaw is that the subwoofer is not powered and has no enclosure to create a baffle effect that most aftermarket subwoofers require. The handling in the snow is UNREAL. I've only gone off the road ONCE, and that was due to black ice on a very steep hill. I've gone in 7" of snow on unplowed dirt roads with little problems and only use all season tires. The backseat is small, although it folds down very easily and has enough cargo room for some nice extended trips or moving a few things. The gas mileage is about 27 on the highways and 20 in the city. (Boston traffic is as bad as it gets). It's been a great car and I wouldn't trade it for any other until it's time to get a truck like every other guy from Maine does when he settles down!

As I Said We Are Shopping For A Second One Now. — First time Subaru owner and boy do i love this car. just sitting in it you feel it wrap around you as some european sport cars do. I had to get used to the quick acceleration from a stop as this car seems to want to open up right from the start. the handling is beyond any car I've ever owned and the speed sensitive steering allows just the slight tug on a freeway to change lanes. the sport shift is very convenient for passing as well. I'm not kidding when I say that I love this car so much I'm buying a second one right now! I love the body style of the 2009 (not hip on the new 2010/2011 body style). this car gets so many compliments as it easily looks as aggressive and stylish as a BMW 3 series. the stereo is like sitting in a concert hall and there is little road noise when driving. I have the Newport Blue with Cream interior and love it.

2009 Subaru Legacy Awd. — This is a very affordable car that gets decent fuel economy even with all wheel drive. I like the looks of the car but my kids thought it looked like An older persons car. Guess what... I am an older person...lol. Great value overall. The Harmon Kardon stereo is a little weak but has decent sound.

Excellent, If Boring, Awd Sedan — Owned this car for 3+ years. Excellent, boring, AWD sedan. It served its purpose and I enjoyed driving it. Probably the best handling sedan on the road in the snow. My 5th Subaru, so I'm a fan of these cars.

Pros

good looking, safe, AWD is great in cold weather states

Cons

lack of power; you really have to plan lane changes if there is traffic.  Slow throttle response.  I have the black interior and it collects ALL dirt and dust, and don't put a family pet in there...you will have animal hair FOREVER.

Good Daily Driver — I have had this car for three years, and it has served its purpose well. I am getting ready to give it to my 16 year old, and I feel confident that it will protect him. While I don't like the lack of power, I DO like that when in the hands of my teenager. It is a very stylish car, gets good MPG and has a good feature set for the price.

Love My Subie — This is my 2nd subaru and I love the way that it handles the road, epecially during the winter. My only gripe is that I wish it had a bit more power. I am getting 25-28mpg with daily mixed commute.

2009 Subaru Legacy 2.5i Se — This car has been great, period. It grips to the snow during the winter, cuts through the spring rain, and glides through the summer's dry pavement. The sleek, slender look of the Subaru Legacy 2.5i SE attracts the most fittest, outdoor enthusiasts in America. To boot, the sound system rocks a Harmon/Kardon 9-speaker system! Great car, great value--for life!

Awd Bliss — I love the AWD platform and wish all of my cars had this. Being AWD does come with slightly reduced fuel mileage (I average 25.5mpg), but compared to other cars in it's class, the difference is minimal and extra costs are worth it in snowy areas. The seats are rather firm and the material seems to stain rather easily. Seat pads and covers provide a cheap and easy fix for this. Maintenance is not terrible since it will run off of standard oil, but other repairs can be costly, and Subaru dealers are not quite as common as many other makes. There is ample room in the trunk, and the passenger compartment has plenty of room for most average-sized people. The headlights are very bright and the high-beams are quite remarkable. The Harman Kardon audio system is also a perfect touch, well balanced, sufficiently powerful, and easy to operate.

Pros

This all wheel drive car is great in the snow and ice! It has tons of room inside with a huge trunk! It's reliable and handles like a champ!

Cons

The only con to owning this car is that maintenance costs can be higher than other vehicles. Keeping up with all wheel tires is also a larger cost, but overall, the investment pays out!!

Safety And Elegance For All! — This car handles beautifully! From the first time you drive it, you feel as if you're glued to the road! Anyone who has a long commute or just wants to feel safer on the road should definitely look into the Subaru Legacy. It's roomy and comfortable for the whole family with amazing trunk space. It picks up and goes like nobody's business! It the sportscar for the ready to settle down crowd!
