Overview of 2009 Subaru Impreza WRX Premium By Michael Perkins
For those who want speed with a bit of added luxury, the WRX Premium offers several upgrades over the WRX trim. Its turbocharged, 265-hp 2.5-liter engine pushes power through the legendary Subaru all-wheel-drive system via a five-speed manual transmission with hill-holder clutch. Traction control is standard and should keep the 17-inch alloys from slipping. Foglights adorn the front fascia, and a sport suspension allows an aggressive stance that won't be mistaken for that of a lesser Impreza. A leather-wrapped, tilt and telescoping steering wheel has radio controls for the AM/FM/6-CD/MP3 player, which also has a digital-media player connection. The front cloth bucket seats are heated, and the driver’s seat enjoys height adjustability. The split-folding rear also comes with cloth upholstery. Power features are abundant, with heated power mirrors, a power sunroof, power windows, door locks, and remote keyless entry. Automatic climate control means you won’t overheat, and a tachometer means the engine won’t, either. Cruise control and a trip computer are standard, along with an outside-temperature indicator, floormats, variable-intermittent front wipers with de-icing, and a rear defogger.
Safety features for the WRX Premium include dual front, front side, and curtain-side airbags, four-wheel antilock disc brakes with brake assist and anti-skid, front-seat active head restraints, daytime running lights, a tire pressure monitor, and a theft-deterrent system.
This overview covers the WRX Premium trim only.
