2009 Scion tC Base Trim Overview

Virtually unchanged from last year, the 2009 Scion tC Base gets its power from a 16-valve, 2.4-liter DOHC inline-four engine and choice of 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. Together they put out 161 hp and 162 ft-lbs of torque at 4,000 RPM. The front-wheel-drive 2009 tC seats four, with 41.6 inches of front legroom and 33.6 inches of rear legroom. Both front sport bucket seats and rear bench seats recline. Rear seats also split-fold, expanding the 12.8-cubic-foot trunk to 60 cubic feet. A fold-flat front passenger seat allows for longer objects. The trunk comes with tie-downs.

The 2009 Scion tC rides on a Macpherson strut front and double wishbone rear suspension. The 17-inch alloy wheels come with all-season tires and a tire monitor. There is no traction or stability control, but 4-wheel disc and ABS brakes feature electronic brakeforce distribution. Dual front-side and side curtain airbags, seatbelt pretensioners, mirrors with turn signals, and a first aid kit are also standard.

Power windows, locks, and mirrors, remote entry, a power sunroof, and wheel-mounted cruise and audio controls top the list of standard interior features. A 7-speaker sound system features a CD player with MP3 playback and an iPod jack. Intermittent wipers, tilt and power steering, front and rear cupholders, a tachometer, a temperature display, two front power outlets, and leather trim are also included. A touchscreen navigation system is optional, along with many customizable features, such as lighting and carbon-fiber trim.
