Overview of 2009 Honda Odyssey EX-L By Eric Tallberg
Adding several more standard comfort and convenience features, as well as the 3.5-liter i-VTEC V6 (the “i” stands for “intelligent”), the 2009 Honda Odyssey EX-L is notched just above the EX in the Odyssey minivan lineup. The EX-L's additional standard features include a power liftgate, leather-trimmed upholstery, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, a four-way power-adjustable passenger seat, heated front seats, a power moonroof, Sirius/XM satellite radio, and rear backup sensors. Taking things a step or two beyond, a voice-activated DVD-based navigation system and rear-seat DVD entertainment system are each available for the ’09 Odyssey EX-L trim.
Honda’s front-wheel-drive 2009 Odyssey EX-L features a standard 244-hp, 3.5-liter SOHC V6. Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) technology, featuring cylinder de-activation at cruising speeds, improves the ’09 Odyssey EX-L's fuel economy (17/25 mpg) and adds 5 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain is still mated with the standard five-speed automatic transmission.
This overview covers the EX-L trim only.
