Overview of 2009 Honda Civic LX By Michael Perkins

The LX’s most notable upgrade from the outside would be its 16-inch wheels, 1 inch bigger than its little brothers’. They still contain front disc and rear drum antilock brakes with power assist, and still connect to a MacPherson strut front and multi-link rear suspension. The LX is powered by a 140-hp, 1.8-liter SOHC i-VTEC engine that qualifies the Civic as an Ultra-Low-Emissions-Vehicle (ULEV-2), with your choice of a five-speed manual or automatic transmission.

Power windows, mirrors, and door locks add convenience, along with remote keyless entry. Many other creature comforts come standard on the LX, including air conditioning, cruise control, a center console, a CD and MP3 stereo with a digital media connection and an integrated rear window antenna, a tire pressure monitoring system, a 12-volt outlet, and everyone’s favorite - floormats. Front bucket seats are clad in cloth and both recline, and the driver’s seat offers height adjustability, and with a tilt and telescoping steering wheel, any driver will have an easier time finding a comfortable position. All seats have three-point seat belts, but the fronts get an automatic tensioning system as well as active head restraints. A tachometer and two-speed intermittent windshield wipers as well as a rear defogger further aid the driver.

Safety features include dual-stage/threshold front airbags, front side and side curtain airbags, side impact door beams, and daytime running lights.

This overview covers the LX trim only.
