Overview of 2009 Honda Civic Hybrid By Michael Perkins

For those who want to do less harm to the environment, but aren’t ready to give up their car completely, Honda offers a stylish means to do so, the Civic Hybrid. Powered by a 1.3-liter gasoline/electric engine, the Hybrid gets a Continuously Variable Transmission and many other technical amenities, including traction control and an anti-skid system.

An automatic climate control system is a major change from the other Civic trims, further setting the Hybrid apart, the same as the mirror-mounted turn signals. Other standard features remain, with a satellite-ready CD/MP3 stereo with a digital media connection, air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, mirrors, and doors, as well as remote keyless entry. Four-wheel antilock brakes stop the Hybrid's 15-inch wheels, and brake assist will help in that regard, while a tire pressure monitoring system will make sure you’re maintaining optimum rolling efficiency. Further features include an integrated rear window antenna, floormats, a 12-volt outlet, an outside temperature indicator, variable intermittent front wipers, a rear defogger, cloth upholstery, a center console, and a tachometer.

Additional safety features include dual stage/threshold front airbags, front side and side curtain airbags, side impact door beams, and daytime running lights.

This overview covers the Hybrid trim only.
