CarGurus Overview

2009 Ford F-150 XL SuperCrew

The 2009 Ford F-150 XL SuperCrew is a true four-door, six-passenger pickup. The rear doors are front-hinged and able to open and close independently of the front doors. All that cabin space still allows the standard 6.5-foot bed as well. The same amenities are standard with the ’09 F-150 XL SuperCrew as with the SuperCab lineup, with power windows, locks, and mirrors, an added pair of rear speakers for the standard AM/FM stereo, and split-folding rear seats added. Options include 17-inch painted-aluminum wheels, and a limited-slip rear axle. There is no 8-foot bed available in the '09 F-150 XL SuperCrew trims.

For 2009, the F-150 XL SuperCrew offers the standard 4.6-liter SOHC V8 with the four-speed automatic that puts out 248 hp and 294 lb-ft of torque. As well, the 292-hp 4.6-liter 3-valve V8 is optional for the ’09 F-150 XL SuperCrew. This engine is combined with a six-speed automatic transmission to get 14/19 mpg.

2009 Ford F-150 XL SuperCrew 5.5ft Bed 4WD

When city driving wears thin and a little off-roading is what you need, or when winter hits hard, the part-time, shift-on-the-fly four-wheel-drive 2009 Ford F-150 XL SuperCrew 5.5ft Bed 4WD comes in handy. Offering the standard 4.6-liter SOHC V8, capable of 248 hp and 294 lb-ft of torque, and the standard four-speed automatic transmission, the go-anywhere ’09 F-150 XL SuperCrew 5.5ft Bed 4WD is also available with the 292-hp, 320-lb-ft/torque 4.6-liter 3V EFI V8 and six-speed automatic.

Available skid plates, electronic hi-lo gear selection, a limited-slip axle, and a mechanical center differential keep the spacious ’09 F-150 XL SuperCrew 5.5ft Bed 4WD on the straight and narrow in all weather and on all terrain.

2009 Ford F-150 XL SuperCrew 5.5ft Bed

Ford’s rear-wheel-drive (RWD) 2009 F-150 XL SuperCrew 5.5ft Bed might be more commonly known as a short-bed pickup. The same roomy cabin as the 6.5-foot-bed XL SuperCrew takes about a foot of bed length, making the ’09 F-150 XL SuperCrew 5.5ft Bed a bit easier to maneuver and park in the city. However, the ’09 F-150 XL SuperCrew 5.5ft Bed retains all the standard amenities, options, and safety features as the rest of the XL SuperCrew lineup.

The RWD ’09 F-150 XL SuperCrew 5.5ft Bed comes equipped with the standard 248-hp, 294-lb-ft/torque 4.6-liter SOHC V8 with a four-speed automatic transmission. As with all other XL SuperCrew trims, the 292-hp 4.6-liter EFI V8 with the six-speed automatic is optional.

2009 Ford F-150 XL SuperCab 8ft Bed

When the guys need a couple of feet of extra cargo room, the ’09 F-150 XL SuperCab 8ft Bed fits both the cargo and the crew. This six-passenger, four-door, rear-wheel-drive workhorse offers either the standard 248-hp, 4.6-liter SOHC V8, the 4.6-liter EFI V8 putting out 292 hp, or the 310-hp, 365-lb-ft/torque 5.4-liter FlexFuel EFI V8, each of which is managed by either the four-speed, or six-speed automatic transmission.

Offering the identical amenities as the rest of the XL SuperCab lineup, the ’09 F-150 SuperCab 8ft Bed is also available with part-time, electronic shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drive (4WD).

2009 Ford F-150 XL SuperCab 4WD

If your work involves wintry travel conditions or is a bit off the beaten path, get the crew to the job with the 2009 Ford F-150 XL SuperCab 4WD trim, with its electronic shift-on-the-fly four-wheel-drive (4WD) capability. The standard 248-hp, 294-lb-ft/torque 4.6-liter V8 is mated with the standard four-speed automatic transmission to provide 14/19 mpg. As with the rear-wheel-drive XL SuperCab, the ’09 F-150 XL SuperCab 4WD offers the optional 4.6-liter EFI V8 or the 5.4-liter Flex Fuel EFI V8, with 292 hp and 310 hp respectively. Both these engines are also mated with the six-speed automatic.

Standard safety and appearance features, standard comfort and convenience offerings, as well as options with the '09 F-150 XL SuperCab 4WD remain the same as those for the rear-wheel-drive XL SuperCab. Manual hi-lo gear selection, a mechanical center differential, and auto-locking hubs put the ’09 XL SuperCab 4WD in snow-and-mud-busting four-wheel-drive mode for easy traveling on-road or off.

2009 Ford F-150 XL SuperCab

For 2009, the rear-wheel-drive Ford F-150 XL SuperCab offers four doors (including rear-hinged “suicide doors”) and bench rear seats to provide room for six passengers. In addition to the standard 4.6-liter SOHC V8 putting out 248 hp and 294 lb-ft of torque with the standard four-speed automatic, the ’09 F-150 SuperCab is available with the 292-hp, 320 lb-ft/torque 4.6-liter V8, as well as the 5.4-liter Flex Fuel EFI V8 that’s capable of  310 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque. Each engine choice couples with a six-speed automatic, and they get 14/19 and 14/20 mpg, respectively.

The ’09 F-150 XL SuperCab adds such standard amenities as rear bench seats, and options include captain’s chairs with a center console and a floor shifter. Standard side head airbags, front and rear, are among the added safety features with the ’09 F-150 XL SuperCab.

2009 Ford F-150 XL 8ft Bed 4WD

All the V8 power, capacities, and engine choices of the rear-wheel-drive ’09 F-150 XL 8ft Bed are available in the four-wheel drive 2009 Ford F-150 XL 8ft Bed 4WD regular-cab trim, with the added traction capabilities of part-time, mechanical shift-on-the-fly 4WD. Standard with the ’09 F-150 8ft Bed 4WD is a 4.6-liter V8 with a four-speed automatic. Then there’s the option of either the 292-hp 4.6-liter 3V EFI V8 or the 310-hp 5.4-liter Flex Fuel EFI V8 (still rating 14/20 mpg).

For hauling that extra load of cargo through wintry weather, the mechanical center differential, manual hi-lo gear selection, and auto-locking hubs of the ’09 F-150 XL 8ft Bed 4WD offer the traction and power to do the job. As with the 6.5-foot-bed XL AWD, optional skid plates are available for the ’09 F-150 XL 8ft Bed 4WD if off-road capability is needed.

2009 Ford F-150 XL 8ft Bed

Have a bit more payload than the standard 6.5-foot bed can handle? Consider the regular-cab 2009 Ford F-150 XL 8ft Bed, with, obviously, an 8-foot bed and 1,890 pounds of payload capacity. Additionally, the rear-wheel-drive (RWD) ’09 F-150 XL 8ft Bed comes with not only the standard 4.6-liter V8, but is also available with a 4.6-liter 2V EFI V8 capable of 292 hp and 365 lb-ft of torque or a 5.4-liter V8 Flex Fuel EFI V8 that’ll pound out 310 hp and 365 lb-ft of torque. This ethanol-blend-capable engine, with a standard six-speed automatic, offers more than 11,300 pounds of towing capacity when properly equipped.

The ’09 F-150 XL 8ft Bed offers such additional options as all-terrain tires and Trailer Brake Control. Of course, this is in addition to the usual XL standard appearance, comfort, and convenience features and options.

2009 Ford F-150 XL SuperCrew 4WD

Part-time, electronic shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drive gets the 2009 Ford F-150 XL SuperCrew 4WD through winter weather or off-road with the whole gang on board. The '09 F-150 XL SuperCrew AWD boasts a standard 4.6-liter 3V V8 engine, mated with a standard six-speed automatic transmission and capable of 292 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque. The  5.4-liter Flex Fuel V8 is not available with the ’09 F-150 XL SuperCrew 4WD.

Power accessories, a set of rear speakers, and split-folding rear seats are standard with the ’09 F-150 XL SuperCrew 4WD, while options, with the exception of no 4.6-liter EFI V8, remain identical to those of the XL SuperCab trims. Of course, the mechanical center differential, electronic hi-lo gear selection, and auto-locking hubs are standard, as well.

2009 Ford F-150 XL 4WD

The regular-cab 2009 Ford F-150 XL 4WD, as the name implies, is equipped with part-time, mechanical shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drive (4WD) to go along with the same 248-hp, 294-lb-ft/torque, 4.6-liter V8 and four-speed automatic that power the base rear-wheel-drive ’09 XL trim. Mileage with the ’09 F-150 XL 4WD suffers marginally at 14/18 mpg, but trailering capability increases to 8,600 pounds.

Along with the usual XL features, the ’09 F-150 XL 4WD offers auto-locking hubs, manual hi-lo gear selection, and a mechanical center differential. The ’09 F-150 XL 4WD is available with an electric shift-on-the-fly transfer case for easier 4WD shifting, and skid plates for a little off-roading when the spirit is willing.

2009 Ford F-150 XL

The ’09 F-150 XL is powered by a 4.6-liter SOHC V8 that puts out 248 hp and 294 lb-ft of torque when hooked up with the standard four-speed automatic transmission.
