CarGurus Overview

2009 Ford F-150 STX SuperCab Flareside 4WD

Take five friends to a party, or to work, in any weather and do it with flair, with the 2009 Ford F-150 STX SuperCab Flareside 4WD. Four doors, part-time, mechanical shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drive, all-terrain tires, and six-passenger seating make it all happen while keeping everyone entertained, with a standard single-CD/MP3 player and four speakers. All the other standard safety features, amenities, and options common to the ’09 F-150 SXT trims are also along for security, comfort, and convenience.

Standard with the ’09 F-150 STX SuperCab Flareside 4WD is the 248-hp, 294-lb-ft/torque 4.6-liter SOHC V8 engine managed by the standard four-speed automatic transmission. The EPA estimates 14/18 mpg with this standard combo. As with all the STX trims, the 4.6-liter 3V EFI V8 and standard four-speed automatic, putting out 292 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque, are available, too.

2009 Ford F-150 STX SuperCab Flareside

A narrower bed with the six-passenger, four-door, rear-wheel-drive (RWD) 2009 Ford F-150 STX SuperCab Flareside emphasizes its retro-bulging rear fenders while eliminating the inside wheel-well humps that characterize the styleside STX trims. Though this narrower bed with the STX Flareside configuration cuts down marginally on payload capacity, the look is very distinctive. Standard safety features, amenities, and options are, of course, the same as with the rest of the ’09 F-150 STX line.

Also standing pat in the ’09 F-150 STX SuperCab Flareside are the standard 248-hp, 294-lb-ft/torque 4.6-liter SOHC V8 and four-speed automatic transmission. The 24-valve 4.6-liter EFI V8 that pounds out 292 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque, combined with the standard four-speed automatic, is also available with the ’09 F-150 STX SuperCab Flareside.

2009 Ford F-150 STX

The rear-wheel-drive, regular-cab 2009 Ford F-150 STX styleside pickup is a step up from the XL trim level, offering three-passenger seating and a 6.5-foot bed. Additional standard appearance, comfort, and convenience features over the XL trim include cloth seats, 17-inch alloy wheels, painted-finish bumpers, and a single-CD player with four speakers and MP3 capability. Additional options include Sirius/XM satellite radio and the STX Décor Package, including 18-inch machined aluminum wheels and polished, 4-inch tubular nerf bars. Standard safety features for the ’09 F-150 STX mirror those for the XL trims.

As with the XL trims, the ’09 F-150 STX is equipped with the standard 4.6-liter SOHC V8 that puts out 248 hp and 294 lb-ft of torque when coupled with the standard four-speed automatic transmission. The ’09 F-150 STX can carry up to 1,690 pounds of payload and is capable of towing 5,900 pounds when properly equipped with the available Class IV trailer hitch.

2009 Ford F-150 STX 4WD

Driving the 2009 Ford F-150 STX 4WD full-size styleside pickup through wintry weather is considerably less stressful with its shift-on-the-fly, part-time four-wheel drive (4WD). Curiously, skid plates aren’t offered with the ’09 F-150 STX 4WD, making it chancy to take off-road. All other standard STX amenities and options are included with the ’09 F-150 STX AWD, with the addition of a mechanical center differential, manual hi-lo gear selection, and auto-locking hubs.

As with the rear-wheel drive ’09 STX, the F-150 STX 4WD comes standard with the 248-hp, 294-lb-ft/torque 4.6-liter SOHC V8 and four-speed automatic transmission, with the combo capable of hauling up to 8,600 pounds of trailer. The 4.6-liter 3V EFI V8 engine, putting out 292 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque, is an option with the ’09 F-150 STX 4WD trim. This engine also mates with the standard four-speed automatic. The 5.4-liter Flex Fuel EFI V8, however, is not available in the ’09 STX 4WD.

2009 Ford F-150 STX Flareside

Looking for a little flair? Look to the 2009 Ford F-150 STX Flareside. This stylish regular-cab, rear-wheel-drive SXT trim cuts down payload capacity by a measly 30 pounds, with its narrower bed, but all else remains the same as with the styleside STX trims, just a tad retro.

Again, powered by the 248-hp, 294-lb-ft/torque 4.6-liter SOHC V8, with the standard four-speed automatic transmission, the ’09 F-150 SXT Flareside can haul a 5,900-pound trailer when properly equipped.

2009 Ford F-150 STX Flareside 4WD

Laugh at winter weather - well, at least smile a little - with the regular-cab 2009 Ford F-150 STX Flareside 4WD. Part-time, shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drive (4WD) adds extra traction to the stylishly retro STX Flareside’s appeal. The ’09 F-150 Flareside 4WD packs all the standard amenities and available options as the rest of the STX 4WD lineup, including the mechanical center differential, mechanical hi-lo gear selection, and auto-locking hubs.

The ’09 F-150 STX Flareside 4WD packs the same standard 248-hp, 294-lb-ft/torque 4.6-liter SOHC V8 and four-speed automatic as its STX siblings, and also offers the optional 4.6-liter 3V EFI V8, in case 292 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque are needed. Mileage suffers marginally with the four-wheel-drive configuration of the ’09 F-150 STX Flareside 4WD.

2009 Ford F-150 STX SuperCab 5.5ft Bed

Still roomy enough for six passengers, the rear-wheel-drive (RWD) 2009 Ford F-150 STX SuperCab 5.5ft Bed cuts a foot off of the standard bed length to make it a bit easier to maneuver and park in town. Still standard is the 248-hp, 294-lb-ft/torque 4.6-liter SOHC V8 that characterizes the STX lineup. The 292-hp, 4.6-liter 3V EFI V8 powerplant is also an option with the ’09 F-150 STX SuperCab 5.5ft Bed. Both these V8s are mated with the standard four-speed automatic transmission.

Standard features with the ’09 F-150 STX SuperCab 5.5ft Bed still mirror the rest of the STX lineup, including air conditioning and 17-inch alloy wheels. Option packages and standard safety features, including four-wheel ABS, stability and traction control, and supplemental side curtain airbags, also reflect all other RWD STX trims.

2009 Ford F-150 STX SuperCab

Along with the standard 248-hp, 4.6-liter SOHC V8 and four-speed automatic, the 2009 Ford F-150 STX SuperCab styleside offers six-passenger seating and four doors (with rear-hinged “suicide” back doors). This is as roomy as it gets for the ’09 SXT cabin, however, as no SuperCrew trim is offered.

Rear-wheel drive and a 6.5-foot bed are standard accoutrements with the ’09 F-150 STX SuperCab, as are the other SXT standard and optional amenities and appearance features (the available captain’s chairs, with center console and floor shifter, cut passenger capacity from six to five, however). Additionally, the 4.6-liter 3V EFI V8 engine, with its 292 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque and four-speed automatic tranny, is available with the ’09 F-150 STX SuperCab.

2009 Ford F-150 STX SuperCab 4WD

For 2009, the Ford F-150 STX SuperCab 4WD offers the 6.5-foot bed, six-passenger seating, standard features and options, as well as the styleside configuration of the rear-wheel-drive STX SuperCab, with the additional roadworthiness of part-time, electric shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drive. A mechanical center differential, auto-locking hubs, and manual hi-lo gear selection are featured with the ’09 F-150 STX SuperCab 4WD.

The traditional 4.6-liter SOHC V8 engine comes standard with the ’09 F-150 STX SuperCab 4WD, managed by the standard four-speed automatic transmission. This V8 puts out 248 hp and 294 lb-ft of torque at an EPA-estimated 14/18 mpg. The 4.6-liter 3V EFI V8, with its 292 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque, is also available for the ’09 F-150 STX SuperCab 4WD, again combined with the four-speed automatic.
