2009 Ford Expedition XLT 4WD Trim Overview

The 2009 Ford Expedition XLT 4WD has all the same interior, exterior, and drivetrain features as the XLT, but adds Ford’s Control Trac four-wheel-drive system. The driver controls this three-mode system with a knob that allows him or her to drive in high or low four-wheel mode; switch to 4X4 AUTO, which allows the vehicle to automatically transfer traction between the wheels; or shift into the more efficient two-wheel-drive mode. All 4WD Expeditions come with front tow hooks, and their maximum towing capacity (with the available heavy-duty towing package) is 9,000 pounds, 200 less than their two-wheel-drive counterparts.
