2009 Ford Expedition EL XLT 4WD Trim Overview

The 2009 Ford Expedition EL XLT 4WD is the heavyweight base of the Expedition model. The EL XLT 4WD shares interior, exterior, and drivetrain features with the XLT, it has all the added capacities of the EL XLT, and it adds Ford’s Control Trac four-wheel-drive system, which can be operated in manual high or low mode, automatic 4X4, or two-wheel drive, all with the turn of a knob. The EL XLT 4WD adds front tow hooks to the exterior, and with the optional heavy-duty towing package has a maximum towing capacity of 8,700 pounds, 200 less than the EL XLT 2WD and 500 less than the XLT.
