Overview of 2009 Chevrolet Suburban LTZ 1500 By R. Feeman

The top-of-the-line 2009 Chevrolet Suburban LTZ 1500 comes equipped with a number of standard features not included on other Suburban trims, including heated and cooled perforated-leather front bucket seats with 12-way power adjustment, heated second-row leather bucket seats with power release, a power remote liftgate, and a Bose Centerpoint 10-speaker surround-sound audio system with a 6-CD changer, XM satellite radio, and an MP3 input jack. Other unique standard features for the LTZ 1500 include Rainsense front wipers, 20-inch polished aluminum wheels, and an Autoride suspension, which continually monitors the road surface, steering, and other inputs, and varies the shock-damping rate accordingly to ensure optimal handling and passenger comfort.

Inside, the standard equipment list for the seven-passenger LTZ 1500 also includes a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, tri-zone climate control, power-adjustable pedals, Bluetooth wireless connectivity, a remote starter, and an ultrasonic rear parking assist, which uses beeps and flashing lights to alert drivers when stationary objects are within 8 feet of the vehicle when backing up. For power, the '09 Suburban LTZ 1500 comes equipped with a 5.3-liter Vortec V8 engine, which generates 310 hp and links to a new six-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. The V8 includes Active Fuel Management, which shuts down four cylinders when they're not required to conserve fuel. The rear-wheel-drive LTZ with the V8 engine posts fuel economy numbers of 14/20 mpg. The LTZ 1500 comes with GM's StabiliTrak electronic stability program, traction control, and four-wheel antilock brakes. Exterior features include power heated exterior mirrors, daytime running lights, and a luggage rack.

This overview covers the LTZ 1500 trim only.
