Overview of 2009 Chevrolet Suburban LT1 1500 4WD By R. Feeman
The 2009 Chevrolet Suburban LT1 1500 4WD provides maximum stability and traction in all types of driving conditions, thanks to its push-button Autotrac four-wheel-drive system. Under the hood, Chevy drops a 5.3-liter V8 engine producing 310 hp and 335 lb-ft of torque. The V8 features Active Fuel Management, which helps conserve fuel by shutting down four of the engine's eight cylinders when they're not needed, such as when idling or cruising at highway speeds. The V8 engine links to a new six-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, which replaces the previous year's four-speed automatic. Four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, and GM's StabiliTrak electronic stability control system all come standard.
Inside, the LT1 1500 4WD offers seating for eight in three rows. Standard features include front bucket seats, an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat, a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, and remote keyless entry. Bluetooth, cruise control, and an AM/FM audio system with a CD player, XM satellite radio, and an MP3 input jack also come standard. One year of OnStar includes turn-by-turn navigation, vehicle diagnostics, emergency services, and remote door unlock. Drivers can fold down the 60/40 split second- and third-row bench seats to expand cargo space to a maximum of 137 cubic feet. Safety equipment includes front head-curtain side-impact and rear head airbags. Exterior features include front foglights, power exterior mirrors, daytime running lights, a luggage rack, and body-color mirror caps and door handles. The LT1 1500 4WD rides on a Premium Smooth Ride suspension and 17-inch aluminum wheels.
This overview covers the LT1 1500 4WD trim only.
