Overview of 2009 Chevrolet Colorado Work Truck By Eric Tallberg
The 2009 Chevrolet Colorado Work Truck is only a “work truck” if owners want it to be. This three-passenger, two-door Regular Cab pickup is available only in rear-wheel drive (RWD), but packs nearly all the features found in the ’09 Colorado LT1 (Chevy Z85) RWD trims, including air conditioning, cruise control, and a leather-wrapped, tilting steering wheel. The only differences are 16-inch steel wheels instead of alloys and no CD player with the AM/FM stereo. A CD/MP3 player is optional, as is the Vortec 3.7-liter engine, four-speed automatic transmission, and power windows, doors, and mirrors.
The standard powerplant for the 2009 Colorado Work Truck is the 2.9-liter inline four-cylinder (I4) engine that delivers 185 hp and 190 lb-ft of torque with the standard five-speed manual transmission. The ‘09 Colorado Work Truck is capable of towing up to 4,000 pounds when properly equipped and can tote 1,422 pounds of payload in its 6-foot bed. EPA mileage estimates for the ’09 Colorado Work Truck are 18/24 mpg.
This overview covers the Work Truck trim only.
