Overview of 2009 Chevrolet Colorado LT3 Ext. Cab By Eric Tallberg
The rear-wheel-drive-only 2009 Chevrolet Colorado LT3 Extended Cab pickup (Chevy names it the “Sport” trim) allows owners to keep the 6-foot bed, have four-door access, and, thanks to rear jump seats, seat four. All ’09 LT3 trims pack the 300-hp, 320-lb-ft/torque 5.3-liter V8 that tows way over 6,000 pounds when properly equipped and hauls up to 1,379 pounds of payload.
Like the Colorado LT3 Crew Cab, the ’09 Colorado LT3 Ext. Cab rolls on the ZQ8 suspension and 18-inch all-season radials. Instead of four regular doors, however, the Colorado LT3 Ext. Cab offers rear-hinged “suicide” doors that require the front doors to be opened first and closed last.
This overview covers the LT3 Ext. Cab trim only.
