Overview of 2009 Chevrolet Colorado LT2 Crew Cab 4WD By Eric Tallberg
Carrying the standard 242-hp, 242-lb-ft/torque, 3.7-liter inline-five (I5) powerplant as the rest of the Colorado LT2 lineup, the 2009 Chevrolet Colorado LT2 (Z71) Crew Cab 4WD, as its name implies, offers the versatility of part-time, shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drive. EPA estimates for the ’09 Colorado LT2 Crew Cab 4WD are a tad lower than the RWD trim's at 16/21 mpg.
Equipped with skid plates, an automatically locking rear differential, Chevy’s Insta-Trac dash-mounted shift controls, and electronic hi-lo gear selection, the ’09 Colorado LT2 Crew Cab 4WD is the perfect vehicle to take friends or family off-roading, though Chevy recommends disengaging the 4WD when traveling on dry pavement. An off-road package is, however, available for all Colorado 4WD trims. Standard safety features and creature comforts are identical to those of the rear-wheel drive ’09 Colorado LT2 Crew Cab, including the 17-inch chrome-clad wheels.
This overview covers the LT2 Crew Cab 4WD trim only.
