Overview of 2009 Chevrolet Colorado LT1 By Eric Tallberg
The base 2009 Chevrolet Colorado LT1 (or Z85, as Chevy calls it) compact pickup packs a lot of features into its small frame. The Colorado LT1 is a rear-wheel-drive-only (RWD), two-door, three-passenger Regular Cab pickup, with a standard front bench seat and a 6-foot bed. The standard engine with the ‘09 LT1 is a 185-hp, 2.9-liter inline-four (I4) that combines with a standard five-speed manual transmission to kick out 190 lb-ft of torque with an EPA-estimated 18/24 mpg. Towing capacity is 4,000 pounds, and payload is 1,422 pounds.
Standard features for the ’09 Colorado LT1, and across the LT1 lineup, include 16-inch alloy wheels, cloth bench seats, air conditioning, cruise control, tilt-wheel steering, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, Onstar, and a single-CD player with two speakers and satellite radio, with options such as a Power Convenience Package, which includes remote keyless entry and power windows and mirrors, a sliding rear window, chrome-clad wheels, and bucket seats. Standard safety features for all ’09 Chevy Colorado LT1 trims include four-wheel, front-disc/rear-drum ABS with electronic brakeforce distribution, traction and stability control, front airbags, side-impact door beams, and a post-collision safety system. Side curtain head airbags are optional.
