CarGurus Overview
2009 Chevrolet Avalanche LT1
As the Avalanche's mid-range trim, the rear-wheel-drive '09 LT1 comes equipped with a number of features not included in the base trim, such as front bucket seats with six-way power adjustment for the driver and passenger, a floor console, rear audio controls, and front foglights. Other standard features include a leather-wrapped steering wheel with cruise and audio controls, Bluetooth wireless connectivity, OnStar with turn-by-turn navigation, and an audio system with a CD player and XM satellite radio. Head-curtain side-impact airbags and Chevy's StabiliTrak electronic stability control system are among the LT1's standard safety features.
The six-passenger cabin features GM's exclusive Midgate, which folds down, along with the rear seats, to expand cargo space to more than 8 feet. A lockable three-piece cargo cover, made with a composite material, keeps the cargo area dry in inclement weather, while lockable storage compartments along the bed provide plenty of room for gear. Under the hood, the '09 Avalanche LT1 comes equipped with a 5.3-liter V8 engine, which generates 310 hp and 335 lb-ft of torque. The engine can run on E85 fuel, thanks to its FlexFuel capability, and has an Active Fuel Management system, which conserves fuel by shutting down four of the engine's eight cylinders when they're not required. The engine links to a Hydra-Matic six-speed automatic transmission with a manual shift feature. A Premium Smooth Ride Suspension and 17-inch wheels provide the foundation for a smooth, capable ride.
