2009 BMW 1 Series 135i Review
ProsGreat styling, tons of power from the twin turbo engine, 6 speed auto shifts quick and smooth, handles great, decent cargo room for size of car, and decent fuel mileage. ConsLack of limited slip differential. No other complaints.

Sporty, Fun To Drive, Good Fuel Economy, Bmw Build Quality. — Overall there is not much I dislike about the car. I wish it came with the rear differential from the M3 or 1M, but I can understand with they didn't. It handles great with precise steering feel. The 6 speed automatic is a great transmission. In normal mode it shifts nice and smooth, but slide it over into Sport mode and it shifts firm and fast. It also has paddle shifters to operate it manual if you prefer and those shifts are extremely fast and crisp. Ride quality is sporty which is to be expected. The brakes feel solid and firm. Lastly, the audio system is top notch for its category. Primary Use: Commuting to work

A Truly Fun Bimmer — The BMW 1 series is a truly great rear wheel drive. It's rather small size added to a very well balanced chassis make the car fun and handy, especially when cornering. The BMW diesel engine has great torque, but it could still be a little better. The design of the car contributes to the fuel economy. All in all this car is a great pleasure, and a true BMW with high resale value. Primary Use: Commuting to work

My Bmw Review — love this car. The model I have has all extras, love the way there is no key and a button to start it, never had any problems with it at all. The car is really fun to drive and pretty fast, bit heavy on the fuel (mine is a petrol model) but I think this is just down to the fuel costs at the minute. Primary Use: Family transportation

ProsFun, Fun, Fun, ConsThis car should have been made as a 2 seater, zero leg room for the back seat

A Great Drivers Car — This little car is a blast to drive. The car has had an issue with the high pressure fuel pump which has been replaced twice. We have just received a recall notice from BMW to have the pump replaced with a redesigned model, from reading online this should fix the issue. one the last note; the body lines are a little "pudgy" but with only those two Items I cannot complain. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Really, Really Fun To Drive (and Tan At The Same Time) — This "Baby Bimmer" which we call "The Go-Cart", is an absolute blast to drive! We chose the 128i instead of the 135i because it has quite enough spunk all on its own. In fact, my wife thought I'd be too dangerous driving the 135i! We love our rides to our NJ Shore house and our yacht in our Go-Cart! Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)
