2008 Volvo XC90 3.2 Special Edition AWD Review
ProsSafety! Comfortable to drive, smooth. Well thought out controls, comfortable seating, solid feeling, usable 3rd row seating that still has storage when up and even more when down. Love the little tailgate, very well thought out. Very sure footed in snow too. ConsGas mileage could be better, especially in town but highway isn't too bad really. My one real gripe is the gigantic, switchblade key. Very expensive to get a second key and has to be programmed at dealership-first they charge for key...than charge to program it which seems like double dipping to me because the key can't be used to start car unless programmed. Visibility due to pillars behind drive is a little poor but maybe that pillar is that solid for safety so....I can live with it.

Safe, Sound And Comfortable...and Safe. — My first car was a 1968 Volvo, it had 268,000 miles on it and I was too poor to have the work done to fix it up. Now I arrived at a place where I could afford another Volvo and I love it. It is such a great feeling to be able to feel like my kids are in the safest car around. They start driving soon and I wanted them to have that extra insurance just in case. Speaking of that, my insurance went down with this car. This car isn't ugly by any means but it isn't a "flash car" either, I like that. Everyone who has ridden in it has given it favorable reviews for comfort, ride and reputation. Gas mileage is not so great in town (around 16) but not too bad on interstate (24 so far). Lots of room, built like a tank but doesn't feel like one. Borrowed a friend's Expedition recently-now that is a tank. Primary Use: Family transportation

The Family Transport — The family transport. It's a vehicle that is pretty versatile when it comes to configuring seats and taking advantage of the capacity. But this is is an incredible GAS GUZZLER. Definitely Worth Considering — The XC90 is very comfortable and safe, and has a lot of great extras like the AUX input, convertible rear storage, and a manual shifting option. The ride is very smooth and stable, with competent acceleration and handling. Mileage is decent, about 18mpg city and 22mpg highway. Primary Use: Commuting to work | ||

Best In Class Suv — Best in Class Mid Sized Luxury SUV's on the market, best in safety, superb handling, sleek, rock solid body, steel reinforced roof which dosent cave in, roll over protection, 3rd row seats easily seat adults, leather seats, un cluttered dashboard, maintenaece every 12000 kms, a bit high on gas, but with all the options offered who cares about a bit higher gas consumption. Its a bit tricky to get to the 3rd row seats if you have 2 carseats on the 2nd row. | ||

I Would Definatley Recommend This Car To Anyone — This is a quality 4x4 which is perfect for family, SAT NAV, black lether (which is too hot for the summer), really good aircon, perfect sound system. This car is NOT fast, but not many 4x4s are anyway. Great handling and braking. this is a 4x4 so it will always be a lot of money for a tank Primary Use: Family transportation | ||

Volvo Xc90 — great car, you get the SUV space and power with the feel of a small car. The tiptronic work very well and the gear changes are nice and smooth. Very safe, i spent more time than needed in the volvo safety museum, and there are more features than you actually need. | ||
