Fantastic Car To Drive — Having owned the Golf for around 3 months now and covered just over 2700 miles. The interior has got to be one of my favourite parts of the car especially the bucket seats that provide comfort and the support to keep you firmly seated in any corner. The biggest surprise to me about the GTI is the fuel consumption as it is not any worse than my C2 VTS was, although I have to admit that is when the GTI isn’t being pushed. The Volkswagen Golf GTI is by far the best car I’ve owned so far for a few reasons. It amazes me how whatever gear you’re in the power is still at hand. I’ve discovered that GTI feels extremely safe at any speed, really provides me with a sense security. The handling of the GTI is brilliant you can go into any corner with the knowledge that you’ll remain firmly planted.

Fun fast little car that can fit the whole famliy well.  Cargo space is rather large for such a small car.  Good fuel eco for the performance you get.

Cons

Maintance is a little high

Never Would Have Thought — Never in my life would I thought I would own a hatchback let alone a VW. I have always owned trucks and older american power cars. Everytime I drive the car I have a smile on my face. The inside is actually nice for a cheeper car instead of the plastic rattle traps American cars have. Plenty of power for when you want to have fun, but an avg of 28mpg.

Perfection — Performance: it charges like crazy when you put your foot down, the brakes are good, fade free, handling is great for a hot hatch Quality: overall very good, more Audi than VW, but the DSG is tricky Appearance: aggressive stance, yet not too obvious Cost: cheap on gas for a sports car, easy to maintain Fun factor: this is where everything I wrote above doesn't matter anymore; it's a BLAST

Pros

Good performance, practicality, price and quality rolled into a nice tidy package. If you can get past the breadbox on wheels looks it's almost a perfect everyday car.

Cons

Like most cars these days it depreciates quickly. Buy used.

Great All-arounder — After nearly 2 years with this car I still enjoy getting in it as much as I can and I get bored very quickly. It doesn't have the outright pace of the my old Evo VIII but it can hold it's own on a race track (and beaten up on a few Evo's in the process). I have yet to find a new car in the US market that has the performance, build quality, practicality, and solid gas mileage for the price this car cost me. And I drive a lot of flippin' cars!

Volkswagen Gti 2008 — It is a great car! handles very well in the curb and on the straight away. I have the 18inch weels and they give a great feeling on the weel. car is great for 2 people! I love having a car that is different from the others, and my GTI gets me heads turning around all the time! I recommand this car to anybody who is single and does not have kids!!

My Mkv Gti — I love everything, the interior, steering wheel, sound, speed, handling. Its perfect for everyday use, you can be driving like a maniac speeding crazily, and when you want it to it can be quiet and relaxing (although the ruff suspenion can be a little bumpy at times). Only problem is its a little too heavy.

Pros

This car is great fun. Drives like a dream, feels like its on rails. No lack of power. Good MPG, Gas saver! Sporty, yet classy. Easy to maintain, but requires quality parts and cannot be cheaply maintained.

Cons

Expensive to maintain properly. Not good for a family. Small back seats - adults can get in okay, but placing a baby seat in the back is tough work.

This Is The Best Car I Have Ever Driven Or Owned. Drive One And You Will Never Go Back. — Performance is unmatched, price is good and saves gas. I would recommend this to a single person looking for a fun car with plenty of power and curb appeal. I wouldn't recommend it for a family. I would definately buy another if I get it with 4 doors.

Great If You Don't Haul More Than 1 Adult Passenger. — Good car stock. Awesome car lowered, with more power and opened up exhaust! Better mileage than my Audi Quattro, but thirsty compared to my wife's Jetta TDI. No room in back seats, cozy up front, but a blast to drive! Just watch out for radar...

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

I Love It Almost As Much As I Love My Wife — Awesome piece of engineering. Works just as well to dice the traffic light GP as to drive to the shop and back. Looks great, has a bit of the Mark 1 GTI styling with the bit of red in the front. For the rest it feels like a after market kitted car, only thing is it comes out the shop stock standard like that. Awesome
