Tacoma's Double Cab offers a sedan-size cabin with four full doors and seating for five. All Double Cabs house the 4.0-liter V6 DOHC engine, which generates 236 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque. On this trim, it is available with a five-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission. Long-bed trims are automatic only.

All 4x4 Tacomas include Toyota's 4WDemand system: a part-time 4-wheel-drive system with a two-speed electronically controlled transfer case. Buyers of V6 trims can also opt for a towing package, which adds a Class-4 towing hitch and a heavy-duty battery. Double Cab Tacomas are differentiated from the smaller models by additional standard features like keyless entry, full power accessories, and higher-quality upholstery.

The 4WD V6 Tacomas are eligible for the TRD Off-Road option package, which includes trail-oriented suspension and tires, a locking rear differential, and front tow hook. The Double Cab models feature four full-size doors and additional standard amenities like keyless entry, powered accessories, and higher-quality upholstery.

The Double Cab is available only with the 4.0-liter V6, which makes 236 hp and provides 266 lb-ft of torque. Towing capacity is estimated at 6,500 pounds.
