CarGurus Overview
The 2008 Toyota Camry Solara Sport adds a number of exterior features when compared to the entry-level SE model, including a sport-tuned suspension, front and rear underbody spoilers, side rocker panel moldings, a rear sport spoiler, and a Sport stainless steel exhaust tip.
Inside, the Camry Solara Sport comes equipped with unique black graphite-style interior trim, aluminum sport pedal covers, Sport fabric seats, and a chrome-accented parking brake button and air vents.
Like its siblings, the Camry Solara Sport also includes such essential safety features as antilock brakes, front and rear side curtain airbags, and a direct tire-pressure monitoring system.
Other standard features include power windows and door locks, remote keyless entry, cruise control, an AM/FM sound system with an in-dash six-disc CD changer and an MP3 input jack, and solar-energy-absorbing glass, which helps keep the car's interior cooler on sunny days.
Despite its Sport designation, the front-wheel-drive coupe comes standard with a 157-horsepower, 2.4-liter VVT-i four-cylinder engine, which is adequate but hardly impressive, according to some drivers and reviewers. A 210-horsepower, 3.3-liter VVT-i V6 can be selected as an option, and it's a better choice for drivers who are seeking more power. Both engines link to either a five-speed manual overdrive transmission or a five-speed automatic.
The Camry Solara Sport borrows its underpinnings and basic design from the standard Camry sedan, but adds a sleeker roofline, a tighter suspension, and a more responsive rack-and-pinion steering system.
This overview covers the Sport trim only.
