2008 Toyota Camry Solara SE Convertible Trim Overview

The 2008 Camry Solara SE Convertible strips off the sleek hardtop of the popular sport coupe from Toyota, and adds a power-retractable fabric convertible top with a full headliner and a large rear glass window with a defogger.

The front-wheel-drive Camry Solara SE Convertible borrows its underpinnings and basic design from the standard Camry sedan, but adds a tighter suspension and a more responsive rack-and-pinion steering system.

As the entry-level Camry Solara model, the SE Convertible comes with a limited list of standard features. But that list does include such essential safety features as antilock brakes, front and rear side curtain airbags, and a direct tire-pressure monitoring system.

The 2008 Camry Solara SE Convertible also comes equipped with such features as remote keyless entry, cruise control, CFC-free air conditioning, and an AM/FM sound system with an in-dash six-disc CD changer and an MP3 input jack.

The Camry Solara SE Convertible comes equipped with a 157-horsepower, 2.4-liter VVT-i four-cylinder engine, which is adequate but hardly impressive for a sport coupe. Drivers can select a 210-horsepower, 3.3-liter VVT-i V6 as an option, and it's a better choice for drivers who are seeking more power. Both engines link to either a five-speed manual overdrive transmission or a five-speed automatic.
