2008 Subaru Impreza WRX Review
ProsVery nice ride, nice handling, amazing breaks (almost went through the windshield), great corning due to the all wheel drive feature, and exhilarating acceleration! ConsLittle to big for my liking, I am into very little cars, but I wouldn't hate owning one of these beauties.

Smooth As Silk.. — This car is so SMOOTH! I love driving it, whenever I get the chance. Its acceleration is flawless, and gives you quite a rush. Anyone looking for a fun car to own, this is definitely one to consider! I generally prefer little two door cars, but this is still sporty, but gives you some room to move, and take friends with you!

ProsPower and handling ConsSpace ... DUH !!! it's a sport car !!!

Wrx 2008 — This car is one of my favotite; It got a lot of power a good handling and a little bit more classy than the previus versions of the WRX. At around 34 K for a sedan model, the ''Power VS COST ratio'' is one of the best on the market !!! Of corse the AWD system bring the WRX to a hole new level compare to most of the cars in the same category. Final Word; WOO HOO !!!

Prosfast, fun, absolute blast to drive on curvy roads Consthe only disappointment i have is that it doesnt snow enough and not enough curvy, fun roads.

Up To Personally Preference Whether You Want To Get A Wrx Or Sti. Do Your Research. — The WRX and STi are very tunable cars. It is very easy to install standard bolt ons. They produce a lot of power for such a small displacement motor. I've owned mine brand new since march of '08. Got the basic bolt ons producing about 300 whp. The acceleration is great, very quick, especially when the turbo kicks in at 3400 rpm and hold boost til red line at 7k. Prolly need to upgrade the brake pads to some Hawks since i've done a little bit of auto-x and drag for time. The handling is superb. I've upgraded the suspension, its lowered and i've stiffened up the sways. Its always a blast to drive it! rain or shine. snow. night or day. bring me whatever elements and i'll drive thru it. give me some corners to carve! Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

ProsCompetent handler with a comfortable ride. ConsPoor cargo space.

If You Don't Need The Cargo Space, A Great Compact Car. — Despite the rally heritage, performance is just so-so. It's a nimble handler and extremely comfortable with excellent ergonomics and passenger space. The looks takes getting used to, but overall build-quality is above those in its class. Only downside is extremely poor cargo space which can't even swallow 2 suitcases! Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsBoatloads of torque, at lower rpm than previous WRXs ConsGas mileage is a lil' low for daily commute...

Wrx — Great mix of a little comfort, more than enough room, and pretty quick / great handling. Really fun to drive - enough power to get in trouble, but not that much really - I floor it several times each drive, without getting in too muchtrouble. LOVES the curves. Styling is enough for me, not the best looking car but I really don't care. Mileage is good enough, about 19-20 driven aggressively like usual, 24 if i want to get mileage, and 28-30 on the highway (abot 70 the mileage drops a lot). AWD's nice - dont have to buy rear tires often! The '08s have the softest suspension of all WRXs, so I'm replacing the bushings... will do sway bars alsso before too long. OEM Brake pads insufficient for aggressive driving. Overall, great. Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsAWD ConsLack of Power
45
A+ Daily Driver, C- Race Car? — Performance: Acceleration - Slow due to WeightOfCar/SOHC/only170hp Braking - Decent for a stock car under 20k Handling - AWD BABY! AINT NOTHING BETTER! Build Quality: Everything seems to be in order except for maybe my e-brake light turns on. Appearance: Interior - As good as a modern day compact car can be. Plastic but what cars arent these days under 20k? well built and nothing is loose or hanging after 2 years. Exterior - It's either you love it or you hate it. and I LOOOOOOOOOVE IT! Cost of Ownership: Gas Mileage - not so great but thats expected of all AWD vehicles. Maintenance - Have not had to repair anything on this vehicle after two years. Fun Factor - The handling is a must to experience, if not this car then drive another subaru and experience why the Subaru name is known for their ability to handle on the road. AWD is standard in all Subaru vehicles! Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

ProsGood Looking ConsThe acceleration sucks

Okay — Slow very slow. The steering is good very loose. But speed wise is not how I like it. If your going to get an Impreza I'd get an WRX or STi. But physically its appealing to the eye but I'd rather get the WRX. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Prosmore room, better engines, stiff suspension, bigger rims, average mpg display, tpms display, get up and gooo! Consdoesn't look like a subaru to me

2008 Dream Machine, New Wrx Body Style — The engine has been amped up to the 2.5 L, much like the previous year's STi. Still a 5 spd transmission, but a dream to drive. The body style reminds me of a Honda... but it's still nice to look at. Also, the inside is a lot more roomy - which also takes away from trunk space (you can put down the back seats though). Surprisingly, these are going for around the same price as the 04-05 STi's.

ProsAll wheel Drive ConsVibration in pedals when wipers move
35
Subaru Imprezza '08 — This is my second car and for the most part I'm pleased. I got it in manual which is my personal choice despite being in Los Angeles though I don't know that I like shifting as much as I did in my old Saturn sports car. I love the all wheel drive feature as it really cuts down on the spinning tires which I think happened twice in the year I have owned it. I also like having a back seat since it just so much more convenient. If I had it do do over again I might have opted for the hatch back even though I have never been a fan. My biggest problem is that if I turn the wipers on I feel them moving in the pedals.

Prosbuild quality, performance Consnone yet

2008 Subaru Impreza — This car is awesome. I love the AWD and the 5-speed. The car handles real well and the suspension is astounding. The cost is not that bad for the base model but you truly have to pay for the performance. This car is fun to drive no matter what condition. |
