Amazing Car For A Great Value — I love this car! My Forester survived 40,000 in one year and toughed it out through its first Alaskan winter. It has performed flawlessly and has never been stuck in the snow. It gets excellent traction in all types of foul weather and has fairly good gas mileage. Overall, my Forester has been a great car with no problems.

Growing On Me. Forester Verses The Honda Element. — I needed a four door with extra room and thought AWD would be a good idea. The forester has been given so many good ratings it made into out must test drive list. We drove the Honda Element and the Forester Sport X on the same day. The Element has a utility "from follows function appeal". The Element did not drive well. It felt underpowered. It rides and steers kind of like a boat. At 75 miles an hour our test vehicle shimmed and made wife feel seasick! Additionally the pillars on the front and rear windows in combination with the reverse doors cause six major blind spots. The rear seats are difficult to operate, and heavy. The Forester Sport X has lines that grow on you. With the rims and spoiler(an option on our) and the news grill the feisty little wagon gets approving nods and compliments. My wife drove the Forester and decided she did not want to drive any other cars! Fortunately, my salesman did not here her say this!. I have been driving the Sport X for a week and find I like it a bit more each day. This little wagon/SUV is easy to drive, has good snappy power. I am got 26 MPG on my first tank of gas!

Nice Family Sedan — AWD is heavy on gas use. Back seat middle can be tight with two booster seats at each side. BOXER should last longer than others. good hauling capacity. meeds less maintenance than many other Japanese cars. A very sturdy car that doesn't cut corners. May be on the pricey side comparedto other Japanese makes.

A Very Good Car. People Who Live In Areas With Snow Will Appreciate The Awd. Fairly Fun To Drive. — It is a great car. It may not be the best looking car, but it is reliable. I have had one maintenance problem, but my Subaru is a repaired salvaged title. It is pretty noisy in the back/cargo area. It has AWD so handling is great, and has performed fairly well off road and in weather. It has decent acceleration and braking. It has gotten pretty good gas milage, better on the highway. Mine is standard transmission, so very fun to shift and accelerate.

Great Car, Love It To Death. — This car is quite a quick car. 0-100 in 7 Seconds. Brakes very well. Handles ok, needs sports lowered suspension to really set it off. Very fun car to drive. Reasonable price, but I need to get a set of chrome wheels to make it awesome!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Made The Best Choice Of Buying It — Love the car all around.. looks amazing. it handles perfectly on corners not much body roll which is fantastic for an suv but that is thanks to the boxer engine that it has. The front hood scoop gives it a very egressive feel to it what also is attractive. the sun roof is huge. It goes all the way back to the second row

Best Of Awd — used and abused to the end. blew by all the EVO's in the snow. Most Rs and other 2.5 components swap right onto the car. just remember. sti swap is a possibility with this beautiful family car. and still no lack in performance

Scooby In Sheeps Clothing — I love all the power in a car that does not look like a sport style car but has loads of acceleration. Boy racers do not realise it has a good speed and can out drag them on the motor way

Pros

Symmetrical AWD, seating comfort, cargo capacity, solid chassis, easy to use controls (radio, ventilation, etc..)Great handling and good suspension.

Cons

feul consomption; on a full tank (60 litres) driving 85 % in the city and 15% highway average kilometers of 450 kilometers.(although I have yet to see the low fuel symbol light up). Slight wind noise at highway speeds.

Cant Wait For The Diesel Models To Arrive In Canada — After 3 months and 6 050 kilometers I must say I am impressed with this vehicle. I have never driven an AWD vehicle before and I must say is makes a difference in handling, acceleration, braking....cant wait for the next snow storm. Driving comfort is great, basic radio system is acceptable, instrument panel is nicely layed out. Only negative aspect that bothers me is the fuel consumption.......but the Forester is not a Yaris so I shouldnt complain.
