Porsche 911 Carrera 4s — This is a cool car that is well built and has a nice sound to it. It has a very nice interior and exterior and it is very fun to drive and be a passenger of. This is one really nice car!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

2008 Porsche 911 Turbo — PERFORAMANCE: Amazing acceleration, fantastic brakes, brilliant AWD handling..... and the sound under full acceleration..... nothing short of heaven. Only minor negative issues - turbo lag and "heavy" rear end.... just like any 911....:-) QUALITY: Nothing compares to the build quality from Porsche. Every gap is consistent, and the various mechanical/electronic system all function flawlessly. APPEARANCE: Loads of room in the front. (I am 6'-4". 250 lbs) Forget about the back seats..... Exterior styling is appropriate for this type of car, and the interior is typical German efficiency. Although the GPS and sound system controls are not very good. Porsche should consider a touch screen system in lieu of the roller wheels. COST OF OWNERSHIP: Expensive to buy, maintenance is not too expensive, as you do not have the first scheduled maintenance until 20K miles. (I recommend a minor service every 5K if you drive the car like it should be driven.) Gas mileage is very good for a car with 480 HP. On a recent 400 miles road trip, I hit 25 mpg cruising at "higher" than normal cruising speeds. In and around town, I am getting around 18 mpg. FUN FACTOR: All I can say is; AWESOME!! I test-drove most cars at the same price point, as well as with comparable performance, (AMG SL63, Nissan GTR, Aston Martin, Lamborghini, etc.) but the 911 Turbo is the "true" and classic sports car. I was not looking for a flashy car, but a great driving machine, and that is what I got. In short, buy one if you can.

2 Fast 4 U — This is why you get a Porsche 911 Turbo right? The performance is, of course, insane. The rated 0 to 60 is around 3.7 seconds. Good drivers can get it to 3.5 and some magazines have done it in 3.4. I doubt I can do it in less than 4 seconds personally. I'm just not good enough on a stick. The Tiptronic (automatic) is supposedly slightly faster but on a sports car, I just prefer a stick. It's not just how fast it goes, it's the handling. I've never driven a car that comes close to the kind of handling this car has. It's just unbelievable how this car maneuvers. That said, I find myself driving it slower than my "day car" the Jaguar S-type R. That's because the Jag is so sound proofed that you can be going very fast without feeling it. In the Porsche, you know you're going fast. That awareness makes me drive it a bit slower.

Pros

Lots of power with handling and preformance to match. Sound system and navigation system were nice.

Cons

Somewhat uncomfortable to sit in for more than an hour of two, though I did slep in the passenger side for a couple of hours on day, so its not really that bad. If you brake too quickly something might run into the back of you.

Got Power? — The car handled amazing, the brakes were awsome, and the acceleration would leave most things in the dust wondering what that black blurr was. A 6'2'' guy like me easily fit into one as well.

Fabulous — Great car! Great performance and looks. It just goes and goes and it doesn´t take so much gas. Thinking if I should sell it and buy a 2010 911 Turbo PDK instead. Haven´t mad up my mind yet...maybe for next year.

911 — After BMW M3 & M5 , the 911 Carrera S is the next car to trade up to. Love the styling, the heritage, the stance, the setup and the rawness you get in every 911. It is a high reving 6 motor with power almost at all rpm range and screams towards redline/

Worth It. — Great power and handling. Stereo not so good. Interior is beautiful. Power is immense. The brakes are powerful but need snow tires for winter driving because of the tires, not the brakes. Interior noise is minimal. Carbon fiber interior is nice too.

Evening Drives Down Memorial — I may have paid for it but this is Jane's toy! Automatic, heated seats, navigation, and big mirrors for makeup application! It is not an "S" model but she likes it that way because it has All - Wheel drive for safety.
