The 2008 Pontiac Vibe five-door Base model shares most of its components, including its engine and interior features, with the Toyota Matrix. And like the Matrix, the Vibe offers drivers plenty of cargo space, as well as a wide variety of seating configurations, thanks to its fold-down passenger seat and 60/40 split fold-down rear bench seat.
In keeping with its status as a value-oriented vehicle, the Vibe comes with a limited package of standard features, including air conditioning, a tire pressure monitoring system, passenger-sensing front airbags, a rear window defogger, a 110-volt power outlet, and a four-speaker AM/FM stereo system with a CD player.
Options include a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a keyless entry system, power door locks, XM satellite radio, and a power sunroof.
For power, the Vibe offers a 1.8-liter, 130-horsepower, double-overhead-cam four-cylinder engine, which links to a standard five-speed manual transmission or an optional four-speed automatic.
