Total Garbage — This car is the most horrible thing I have owned since I had an XJS Jag. I have had it almost 3 years now and only 20k miles. I will NEVER again purchase a GM product. It is extremely hard to drive with the top up, you are blind form the doors back. I have had fits with the fuel system... that can not be figured out by dealership? It will nose dive while accelerating.I have had to take the car in twice for the trunk releasing but the top not. I have interior squeaking that will drive a person to drink, that the dealerships cant figure out(its in the dash... somewhere). Backfiring is a problem at elevation. Use 85 octane if you are planning to go 6500 feet or higher. The handling is good, but the tri-mode rear end is not. This car is great to look at, but that's as far as I would go if I were you... just look.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

If You Can Afford A Second Car For Pure, Fun Driving, This Car Is A Great Choice. — Bought used in 2010 with 4300 miles. Love this car! The more I drive it, the more I love it! With the top down, its the hottest looking car on the road. Ultra-quick and very excellent handling. Storage is a problem and fit and finish is just average. Averaging 27 mph on Chicago toll roads.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

This car handles great and is fun to drive, especially with the top down.  Never have problems with it.

Cons

It has a blind spot when the top is up that has almost caused me to have accidents.  Be sure to check twice when changing lanes.

This Is One Sexy Car. Put The Top Down And People Notice! — I HATE to give this car up! It got great mileage, 28 on the highway, and I've never had any major repairs needed on it. A couple of sensors had gone out, but it was still under warranty at the time and I've had no problems since. Maintenance has been kept up-to-date.

A Well Kept Secret — 2008 Solstice Base-Premium Package When U.S. taxpayers bailed out GM, the deal was to get rid of the lowest selling line. R.I.P. Pontiac. Power; more than enough for any sane driver. Looks: Think Hot Wheels. Remember the Cheetah? You got it right here. Maintenance Cost: Average; Handling: Above Average 50/50 weight distribution; Front Seats: Low, comfortable, cruiser, lots of leg room; Reliability: Starts Every-time; Fuel Economy: You don't buy a car like this for gas mileage. EPA estimates are a joke. They are done on a straight road, no hills, dry sunny day,....For me 19 City 30-32 hgwy spirited driving; Price: Paid 17k 24 k on the clock Cargo Capacity: Think three day motorcycle trip. Plenty of room for groceries for two well fed adults. I bought my Solstice used with about 24k on it. CarFax said it was a repo-one owner.I watched it sitting on the lot I bought it from for a full year before I bought it. It's an exotic sports car. Everything that goes along with owning a car like that, goes along with owning this car. My first car was a Triumph TR4. I've had: a Spitfire, Plymouth Satellite, BMW 325, Lincoln Mark III, VW Golf, and the list goes on. GM says the Solstice should go 100k with no maintenance. Only a fool would believe that. So do the basics: oil changes, filters, tires, brakes, do the work you would do if you owned an MG, or a Triumph. The clam-shell hood makes the car's motor a piece of cake to work on. Buy some low profile ramps, a low profile jack, some jack stands, and you are in business. If you are going to buy one, get down on your hands and knees and look at the bottom of the fender. These cars have specific jacking points similar to the Corvette (it shares a Corvette steering wheel), and the fenders get crunched on the bottom by putting a jack or lift in the wrong place without a disc or "hockey" puck. You should be able to knock a grand or so off the price to a dealer who does not know better. You can pull and pound the fenders out in an afternoon, or buy primed ones for 85.00 shipped. The car is built like a racing car. Fenders come on and off, body panels are adjustable. This is a car guy's car. That's non gender specific. It's a hobby. It handles great and makes you feel like a million bucks. Enjoy it. Hold on to it. They only made approximately 65, 724 of them. They won't be making anymore.

Not Worth The Money.. — This car is fun in the summer...doesn't handle good in rain or ice.. it's fun to drive but there's to many problems with it...I don't think I would recommend this car to my friends, unless they wanted it for a weekend car...

Looks great, turns heads, imagining handling, made for fun

Cons

The only cons are storage, you can put golf clubs and duffle bags the trunk, which you cannot do many of the competing car types, but it is not handle regular suit case too well.

Made For Fun — This car is pure fun; it handles better than any car that I ever driven, we love taking drives on the mountain roads. Everywhere we go , people look at it to try to see what it is. Everyone loves this car. This car is very dependable, we have not has any problems with it.

Very Happy With My Solstice — it handles really great, nice appointments, build well, low maintenance, good gas milage, needs a little more getup, the name does not fit the car, a whole lotta fun you want to drive it everywhere especially with the top down

Looks, handling and traction

Cons

Engine Output and vibration

Solstice Review — It's a great car just for showing of, if you want performance you are going to have to invest more than 10 thousand to enhance the engine. It has great looks, a deafening sound and a striking handling. I have never been very fond of american cars, personally I prefer europeans, but the solstice has astonished me talking about looks. Unforntunantely, the engine makes too much sound taking into account it's a four cilinder, the 2.4L engine develops 170 hp reflected only in curve acceleration, in straight line it's a bit dull.

feisty torque at low rpm, snappy acceleration and braking, stunning looks

Cons

plastic interior, painful cup holders, small trunk.

Gxp — Snappy acceleration and braking, Hollywood good looks, new so no repairs, a little too much interior plastic, killer blind spot at 7PM with hood up, good on gas. Trunk undersized, although will hold about 7-8 grocery bags full with the hood up. Real head turner, and great fun to drive!
