2008 Lincoln Navigator L Trim Overview

Adding 15 inches to overall length increases the cargo area in the 2008 Lincoln Navigator L. This full-size luxury SUV introduced a rear-wheel-drive extended version last year, and it holds 25 cubic feet more cargo â?? up to 128 cubic feet when the second- and third-row seats are folded flat. The extra space is the only distinguishing feature of the L from the Base model. The same 5.4-liter, 300-hp V8 sits under the hood, matched to a 6-speed automatic transmission and delivering 365 ft-lbs of torque. Riding on 18-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires, the 2008 Navigator L seats seven, but can accommodate eight when the second-row captain's chairs are replaced with an optional bench seat. The second row reclines, and there is a new power-fold feature for the third row.

ABS brakes, traction and stability control, a tire monitor, and dual front-side airbags and side curtain airbags for all rows are standard, along with automatic headlights, foglights, xenon lamps, parking sensors, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. A rearview camera can be added. The cargo area comes with tie-downs and a new power liftgate. Trailer wiring and a roof rack expand storage options. The interior of the 2008 Navigator L is wrapped in leather, wood, and alloy trim. Heated and cooled leather front seats feature 10-way power adjustments with memory settings. Satellite radio, a 6-CD player with MP3 compatibility and new THX surround sound entertain passengers. Multi-zone climate control, wheel-mounted cruise and audio controls, intermittent front and rear wipers, remote entry, a security system, trip computer, and compass and temperature display are other nice conveniences. If that's not enough to keep you happy, a voice-activated navigation system is available, as is a DVD player, sunroof, upgraded leather, power running boards, 20-inch chrome wheels, and power rear quarter window shades. All this comes at a price, however. Gas mileage runs a dismal 12/18 mpg.
