2008 Infiniti G37 Base Trim Overview

The new wedge-shaped G37 sport coupe is powered by a 3.7-liter, VVEL (Variable Valve Event and Lift) V6 engine that produces an impressive 330 horsepower. The VVEL technology not only tunes the engine continually for optimal performance, but also provides improved fuel efficiency and lower carbon-dioxide emissions.

The engine is linked to a five-speed automatic transmission. Drivers have the option of letting the automatic do all the work, or they can select each gear manually using magnesium metal paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel.

The interior of the G37 is trimmed with Washi-finish aluminum that mimics the textured look of Japanese paper. The leather-trimmed driver's seat is power-adjustable 14 different ways, and a wide center console houses the car's 11-speaker, Bose-designed Infiniti Studio on Wheels stereo system.

Among the G37's other features are 14-inch brake disks, 19-inch wheels, and four-wheel Active Steer, which means that all wheels turn as you steer. This helps improve handling, especially during hard cornering.
