The 2008 Infiniti EX35 Journey is the rear-wheel-drive version of the more upscale trim offered for this new crossover. As such, it adds standard leather seats, a sunroof, power-folding second-row seats, a compass, and a remote garage opener. These join a full power setup, remote start, remote entry, and power front seats (8-way and 4-way). Also standard are wheel-mounted cruise and audio controls, a CD/MP3 player with input jack, intermittent wipers, a trip computer, temperature display, automatic climate control, and leather and alloy accents. Rear seats fold flat to expand the cargo area, which holds 16.8 cubic feet. A roof rack can be added.
Under the hood of the 2008 EX35 Journey is a 3.5-liter, 297-hp DOHC V6 and 5-speed automatic with both manual and sport mode and adaptive shift control. The crossover sits on 17-inch alloy wheels, with optional 18-inch wheels available. The Journey adds automatic headlights, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and parking sensors to the long list of safety equipment. Four-wheel disc and ABS brakes come with electronic brakeforce distribution and brake assist. Other features include dual front-side and side impact airbags for both rows, a tire monitor, traction and stability control, and rollover sensors. An optional four-camera setup (Around View Monitor) prevents blind spots when backing up, and the new Lane Departure Prevention system keeps the 2008 EX35 Journey in its lane if it senses drifting. It can be turned off.
There are more options for the Journey, including heated seats, memory settings, dual-zone climate control, a 6-CD changer, an 11-speaker Bose sound system, a hard drive, and adaptive cruise control. Upgraded leather and wood trim enhances the luxury feel of the interior. For luxury and power, the 2008 EX35 Journey is the best bet. However, the lack of rear legroom (28 inches) does not make this crossover ideal for families.
