CarGurus Overview

A 260-hp, 3.8-liter DOHC V6 with 257 lb-ft of torque powers the 2008 Hyundai Veracruz GLS, a front-wheel drive crossover SUV that seats seven in three rows.  Paired with Hyundai's new 6-speed Shiftronic transmission, the engine delivers around 17/26 mpg.  Riding on a fully independent suspension and 17-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires, the 2008 Veracruz GLS is packed with safety features, including electronic brakeforce, 4-wheel disc and ABS brakes, dual front and side curtain airbags for all three rows, a tire monitor, traction and stability control, automatic headlights, and mirrors with turn signals.  It earns 5 stars in crash tests, with four stars for rollover ratings.  Rain-sensing wipers, foglights, and rear parking sensors are available.

Inside the GLS you'll find family-friendly features, such as four power outlets (2 in front, 1 in back, 1 in the trunk), a cooler console, rear
climate control, full power features, satellite radio, and a CD/MP3 player.  Keyless entry, intermittent front and rear wipers, wheel-mounted cruise and audio controls, privacy glass, and a trip computer are also standard.  The second row split-folds 60/40, while the third row splits 50/50 and folds flat.  Outside is a standard rear spoiler and front air dam.  An available roof rack and cargo tray add more storage features, and an optional tow hitch can carry up to 3500 pounds.  Other options include sound-insulating carpeted floor mats, a first aid kid, and a package that features an 8-way power driver's seat, sunroof, heated seats, and leather trim.

This overview covers the GLS trim only.
