CarGurus Overview
2008 GMC Acadia SLT-1
The 2008 GMC Acadia SLT-1 trim adds a lot more comfort and convenience features. In addition to a full power setup, remote entry, cruise control, heated mirrors, front and rear intermittent wipers, and a compass and temperature display, this front-wheel drive crossover gives you a 6-way power driver's seat and 2-way power passenger seat, a trip computer, tri-zone climate control, and a garage opener. Leather upholstery and trim give a plusher feel to the interior. A 6-CD changer features wheel-mounted controls and a 10-speaker sound system and comes with new satellite radio and an MP3 audio input jack. There are cupholders for all three rows.
Unlike the SLE-1, the 2008 Acadia SLT-1 seats seven, because the second row comes with captain's chairs that get their own center storage console. The front armrest storage console is 60 cubic inches. Eight-passenger seating is available with an optional bench. Both rear rows fold flat and split-fold 60/40, expanding cargo space to 117 cubic feet. The second row seats slide three inches front and back. A long rear passenger door opens wide for easy access. In the SLT-1, the second row gets its own climate controls. The cargo space features under-floor storage and tie-downs and can be outfitted with a cover and net. Aluminum roof rails expand storage versatility. More available options for the SLT-1 include a power lifgate.
On the safety front, the 2008 Acadia SLT-1 adds mirrors with turn signals and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Already included are traction and stability control, rollover sensors, 4-wheel disc and ABS brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, passenger airbag deactivation, and dual front-side and side curtain airbags for all rows. The 18-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires come with a tire monitor. 19-inch wheels are available. Foglights, automatic halogen headlamps, and daytime running lights are also standard. A 3.6-liter DOHC V6 gets 275-hp and 251 ft-lbs of torque at 3200 RPM. A 6-speed shiftable automatic is the only transmission. A navigation system, heads-up dash display, and a two-panel sunroof (front tilts and slides, rear panel is fixed) are upgraded options for the SLT-1. Other extras include a DVD player with wireless headphones and a Bose surround-sound system.
2008 GMC Acadia SLT-1 AWD
Although it already comes well equipped with a host of four-star safety features, including traction and stability control, rollover sensors, 4-wheel disc and ABS brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, and dual front-side and side curtain airbags for all three rows of this crossover SUV, the 2008 GMC Acadia SLT-1 AWD adds extra security with its automatic all-wheel drive system. It apportions torque when it senses slippage, though it defaults to front-wheel drive. It is not intended for off-roading since it lacks low-range gearing, but it does come with a limited slip center differential.
A 275-hp, 3.6-liter DOHC V6 powers the 2008 Acadia SLT-1 AWD, along with a 6-speed shiftable automatic. Fuel economy averages 16/22 and the SUV can tow up to 4500 pounds with the optional tow package. Other standard safety features include mirrors with turn signals, foglights, automatic halogen lamps, and a tire monitor for the 18-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires. Optional 19-inch wheels cost extra.
The 2008 GMC Acadia SLT-1 AWD doesn't forget to focus on its passengers. Full power features include a 6-way power driver and 2-way power passenger seat, remote entry, a garage opener, and power windows, locks, and heated mirrors. Cruise control and audio controls for the 6-CD/MP3 player reside on the wheel. Other standard features include front and rear intermittent wipers, tri-zone climate control, leather upholstery and trim, an audio input jack, and satellite radio. On the dash sit a trip computer, tachometer, temperature readout, and compass. A heads-up display can be added, allowing drivers to keep their eyes on the road. The SUV seats seven in three rows, with the option to fit an extra person by replacing the second row captain's chairs with a bench seat. Both rear rows fold flat, and the cargo space expands from 19.7 to 117 cubic feet. Tiedowns are standard, along with a roof rack. A cargo cover and net are available. Other options include a navigation system, DVD player, parking sensors, and a two-panel sunroof.
