A Excellent Value For Money — Performance: Great was really surprised with diesel. Braking is good but tends to fade under heavy braking and off road driving. handling is good for its size. its got the normal ford squeaky suspension mounts and the top section off the dash rattles a bit. Its got a very muscular appearance which i love. i get about 760 km on a 80liter tank of diesel maintenance isn't to expensive. And its a lot of fun to drive but on sand and gravel roads it starts coming alive. Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Proscheap to run, good work horse!! ConsOnly big enough for 2 men.

Great Little Work Horse, Good Gas Mileage. — Not very fast but at the end of the day... its a work truck and I'd give it 5 stars for that. Its built tough, and has been put through its paces. Exterior is ok. I got the pick up bed sprayed with colour matched Line-x bedline both inside the bed and outside. along with tool boxes and ladder rack. Pretty cheap to run on gas, compared to the avergage canadian truck. Great 2 person truck, plenty of room, and enough room to store things in behind the front seats. Once all my equipment is off the truck, its nippy and pretty quick. Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsPowerful engine, strong, and reliable ConsGas mileage

Very Good Truck With The Only Minus Being The Gas Mileage — I like the powerful V6 engine and quick acceleration and the ability to haul that I didn't have in the Mazda. My only complaint is that the gas mileage could be better but with a pickup truck with a 4.0l V6 and 4.10 gear ratio in the rear poor mileage is to be expected. It is a very fun vehicle to drive because for a pickup truck it handles quite well with its rack and pinion steering. Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsIf you want a truck but don't need anything as big as an F-150. ConsFord brakes and transmission

I Love It. — Like all new Fords, the brakes 'chirp' at only 20,000 miles of wear. The gas mileage is roughly around 17-20 mpg. The truck was a bit pricey for being so small though. But it was worth it. Its really hard to keep clean though with it being black. Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsGorgeous colour, good highway gas mileage. ConsCity gas mileage not the greatest.

08 Ford Ranger Sport — Good gas mileage, great highway mileage. Build quality is great. Fun to drive, goes pretty well anywhere I want to go. Good for camping, box can handle all camping gear. Drives great, awesome acceleration, braking and handling. Nice contrast between the exterior black colour and the interior black/grey colour. Vinyl floor makes it easy to clean.

Great Truck For Me — For completely stock, she's quite torquey. 4.0L stock under the hood, along with everything else as well for now. Building from the ground up as soon as it is paid off, which will make it even better to drive. Going to drop in a 5.0L mustang engine and transmission along with brembo brake kit, different gearing in the back, re-gearing the 4wd to handle higher speeds, lowering kit, and a brand new coat of paint. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

ProsPaint/Trim Package ConsFuel economy
25
2008 Ford Ranger Fx4 — Not a bad truck. Owned a 91 Ranger and packed it in at 565000K. This is why I chose another Ranger. Big mistake. VERY VERY poor fuel economy. A fill only gets me 425kms per tank. BRUTAL. Power off the line pulling trailer is ok. Midrange is good as well but not like my 91. Not even close. Both were 5sp manuals. I've had it in for a few warrenty issues but other than that very reliable. It's a very nice looking truck with a nice paint/trim package. Rare in my area. Downfall about drivablilty is the rear end is way too stiff. Any bumps on the road and the rear end jumps sharply to the right. Always have to be on quard on gravel or bumpy roads. Over all review I give it a 3. Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.) |
