2008 Ford Fusion V6 Sel Awd By Brett
Performance - The AWD on the Ford Fusion is great! It handles wonderfully in the snow. The 3.0L DOHC V6 has adequate power for the car. There could be a bit more power I believe. Braking is not a pr... Read More

CarGurus Overview
The best-equipped Fusion model available for 2008, the V6 SEL AWD combines a premium package of standard features with an active all-wheel-drive system and a 221-horsepower, 3.0-liter Duratec 30 V6 engine, all wrapped in a bold exterior design distinguished by its quad-beam headlights and three-bar chrome grille, which has become a company-wide design element.
The Fusion's all-wheel-drive system constantly monitors traction and, in the event of slippage, applies engine torque to the wheels with the most grip to ensure the driver has control of the vehicle on all types of road surfaces, including ice, mud, and gravel. At highway speeds, the all-wheel-drive system shuts off to conserve fuel.
Ford upgraded the feature list for the 2008 Fusion to include such safety-related improvements as antilock brakes and a tire-pressure monitoring system. The Fusion V6 SEL AWD also comes with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated exterior mirrors, an upgraded cloth interior, a keyless entry keypad, electronic automatic climate control, and 17-inch wheels with performance tires, as well as a six-speaker AM/FM stereo system with an in-dash six-disc CD player and an MP3 input jack. Standard equipment also includes a five-speed manual transmission, while a six-speed automatic is optional.
To improve the interior's flexibility, the front passenger seat folds down, while grocery hooks in the trunk improve functionality. An optional ambient lighting system, available late in the 2008 model year, helps improve the vehicle's interior atmosphere.
High-end options include a Reverse Sensing System, a power moonroof, and an upgraded eight-speaker audiophile AM/FM stereo system. Other options include the Ford Sync communications connectivity system, which enables hands-free access to cell phones and MP3 players (due late in the 2008 model year), and an optional Sport Appearance Package with a number of exterior and interior upgrades.
This overview covers the SEL V6 AWD trim only.
