Pros

Tons of room, the suburban is well appointed with many features tied to higher end SUVS.

Cons

Cylinder deactivation, as the driver you can feel the change in the drive line as the vehicle moves from 8 cyl to 4 cyl.

Good Truck For The Money. — Fuel mileage poor even with cylinder deactivation. Love the white diamond tricoat. These trucks are a dime a dozen driving down the road. There's one at every street corner so get a color that's less purchased if you want to be different. Love the space, entertainment, etc. Just didn't give me that, I look forward to driving it feeling.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Suburban - Best Car We've Ever Owned — The Suburban is the best car there is for long road trips. We can pack in loads of stuff and still not feel cramped. The ride is extremely comfortable. Obviously mileage is not great, but the fully loaded LTZ has every imaginable extra and gadget. This is our second Suburban (the first one lasted us 12 years and 102,000 miles) and we'll probably have Suburbans for life.

Very spacious, Handles very well, very comfortable drive, backup sensors were cool

Cons

Wow Thats Big — I drove this car for 3 weeks and was impressed with handling and get up and go, It's a BIG truck and I really like driving big trucks, but its almost too big, overall its a fun drive but gas pump will kill ya! I filled up after only using a quarter of a tank and almost fainted, that quarter of a tank was my Durango's full tank. OUCH!

Great Update To A Solid Performer — Traded a Denali XL and so far very pleased. Glad they finally added a black interior. Wound up ordering a loaded 3LT instead of the LTZ to avoid the chrome overload. Got the 6.0 engine as well.

Braking, Acceleration And Handling Very Good — This vehicle is safe, rides comfortable and is very quiet. It is a safe and fun to drive. The vehicle handles well and seats up to six passenger comfortably. Could possibly seat seven. The entertainment package is a nice addition for rear passengers. This vehicle is a gem.

Pros

Lotsa room! Easy to drive, car-like steering. Mechanical reliability has been good in class. Great for families.

Cons

Avg MPG's. BIG, your not gonna grab that first parking spot too easy. Feels a little "top heavy" on the handling side. So-so interior quality.

The Perfect Family "truckster"! — Easy to drive, as long as you don't try to fit in that tight parking spot. Quiet interior although quality is only lackluster. Doesn't run great on 85 octane here in Denver, needs mid grade gas. Perfect vehicle for family on 4 or more (plus the cat and dog)...

Pros

Plenty of space for the kids and for their stuff.

Cons

the second row bench becomes a pain the rear when you have kids regularly getting into or out of the third row and you have to use car seats in the 2nd row.

Great Family Car. — Solid car. Very, very reliable. Smooth ride and decent hwy mileage.Plenty of cargo space and seating. One thing to consider, if you have more than one child in a car seat and you have others that need to get to the 3rd row, you will have to open both sides of the car. The single seat that folds up is on the passenger side. The double seat where your car seats will be is on the drivers side. This poses a little bit of a problem when kid #4 comes along.

Great Vehicle — The vehicle has been a great purchase. The SUV is a little big, but handles like a much smaller car. The wife loves it and the kids can't get enough of the space and additional features. The gas mileage is not great, but the pros definitely outweigh the cons. You can either give up the mileage and get the comfort, or give up the comfort and get the mileage. We chose the comfort.

Gas, Price, Weight.. ( it weights around 7,500 lbs )

'08 Suburban — The big thing about this truck is that it's a major gas hog. I've had to drive a few of them, and costs almost 125 bucks just to fill it up ( at 3.95 a gallon ). The other big thing is it's price tag.. the LTZ goes for 41,500 retail value, however LTZ models also include most of the options dragging that price from 41,500 to nearly 60,000. Just to add a touch screen with GPS, secondary DVD / TV monitor with headphones, chrome liftgate, chrome rims, rear view camera with motion senors.. would run you around 16,000. Keep in mind Chevy also offers 2 tone interior, and a few other options for this truck. It's a

Is A Keeper. — Like just about everything. Dislikes, none. Goes great in the snow. Hauls lots of people and stuff with ease. Good power on regular gas. Haven't tried E85 and don't intend to. My golfing buddies ride in style too on the way to the course.
