CarGurus Overview

Standard features such as a remote vehicle starter system, a six-way power-adjustable driver's seat, an auto-dimming interior rearview mirror, front foglights, and 17-inch Pearl Chrome-clad wheels distinguish the Chevrolet Equinox LT2 from the lesser-equipped trims in the lineup for 2008. Also part of the LT2 package are such features as a leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, OnStar, and power windows and door locks. Options include a power sunroof, side-impact airbags, and a DVD entertainment system.

A 185-horsepower, 3.4-liter V6 engine resides under the hood of the Equinox LT2. The engine links to a five-speed automatic transmission designed for smooth shifting and acceleration, as well as fuel efficiency. Four-wheel antilock brakes and the StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control System are also part of the package, helping to ensure good handling and stability in all types of driving conditions.

Despite that fact that it's considered a compact SUV (Chevy refers to it as a "crossover vehicle"), the Equinox LT2 offers plenty of interior room, according to drivers and reviewers, as well as a smooth, comfortable ride, even over rough roads and long distances. Reliability and build quality are said to be good, although some drivers have noted a certain amount of body sway under hard cornering.

This overview covers the LT2 trim only.
