CarGurus Overview
The 2008 Chevrolet Equinox LT2 AWD comes well-equipped with an expanded list of standard features, including a six-way power-adjustable driver's seat, a remote vehicle starter system, an auto-dimming interior rearview mirror, front foglights, and 17-inch Pearl chrome-clad wheels. A leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, OnStar, and power windows and door locks are also included with the package. Options include a power sunroof, side-impact airbags, and a DVD entertainment system.
In addition, the Equinox LT2 AWD comes equipped with an on-demand all-wheel-drive system, which helps improve traction on rainy, snowy, icy, or muddy roads. The AWD system delivers power to the front wheels under normal driving conditions and automatically transfers power to the rear wheels when needed. Four-wheel antilock brakes and the StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control System also come standard on the Equinox LT2 AWD.
A 185-horsepower, 3.4-liter V6 engine powers the Equinox LT2 AWD. The engine links to a five-speed automatic transmission designed for smooth shifting and acceleration as well as fuel efficiency.
A Multi-Flex sliding rear seat helps ensure plenty of legroom for rear-seat passengers, or it can be slid forward to provide additional cargo space when the rear seats are unoccupied. In fact, with the rear seat slid all the way forward, the Equinox LT2 AWD provides 35 cubic feet of rear storage space, which is more cargo space than the Ford Escape, according to Chevy. Drivers and reviewers confirm that the Equinox offers plenty of interior room, as well as a smooth, comfortable ride, even over rough roads and long distances. Reliability and build quality are said to be good as well, though some drivers have noted a certain amount of body sway under hard cornering.
This overview covers the LT2 AWD trim only.
