CarGurus Overview

As the high-end coupe in the Cobalt lineup for 2008, the Cobalt Sport Coupe comes nicely equipped with such standard features as traction control, antilock brakes, power windows, power door locks, and remote keyless entry. In addition, new features such as a tire-pressure monitoring system, side-curtain airbags, and XM satellite radio have been added to the standard equipment list. Leather seats, a power sunroof, and traction control are among the options.

The Cobalt Sport Coupe's 2.4-liter, high-output Ecotec four-cylinder engine also distinguishes it from the other trims in the Cobalt lineup. The engine produces 174 horsepower, 26 more hp than other Cobalt trims get. The engine links to a five-speed manual transmission, which comes standard, or an optional four-speed automatic.

The Cobalt Sport Coupe handles well and offers a smooth ride, according to drivers and reviewers. The Sport Coupe also gets good marks for its economy, build quality, and interior space and comfort, though rear-seat legroom is tight for adults. In addition, access to the back seat can be tricky due to the coupe's long doors.

This overview covers the Sport Coupe trim only.
