2007 Volkswagen Rabbit 2-Door Review
ProsPerformance is impressive and it looks great ConsSmall rattles

Excellent Car — After 40,000 miles I still don't have almost any complaints regarding this car. There are a few rattles from the dash and from one of the windows but nothing major. Engine, brakes and steering are great. Powerful, precise and comfortable. On top of all that it looks great and the regular maintenance schedules were reasonably priced even at a VW dealership and gas mileage for a 2.5L, 150hp engine is not as bad as some claim. Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsGreat ride and handling Consummm... nothing really sucks about the rabbit... I would rather have a GTI... but then I would have too many speeding tickets :)

Happy Bunnies — The rabbit has decent power (150hp an 170 ft/lbs) so it can still hit 210km/h. It's handling is extremely nimble for a daily driver, without being rough... In fact, I would call the ride quite pleasant. The torque is sufficient to drive around town without leaving third gear for a right turn. It's fuel economy is quite good as well, not as good as a civic, but the Rabbit is much much much nicer to drive. The interrior noise is quite low and the heated seats add a very high level of comfort. As for how fun it is... because of it's taught suspension and hatchback design, navigating city traffic is a blast! The interrior quality is very high, actually higher than anything I've seen in the price category. The cost of ownership isn't excessive, in fact, I would call it very cheap for a German made car. ProsHandling; Torque; Consslightly compromised fuel economy; back seat comfort for taller individuals

A Brief Description Of Greatness - Vw Rabbit — Very fun. Way better handlling and suspension than my old Corolla (I don't avoid bumps anymore). Good cargo room. The back seat is not what it could be, but that's not exactly the point of this car, now is it?. Primary Use: Commuting to work

The Best Car In Its Class — lots of usable torque, fun to drive. build quality top notch. ridiculous amount of standard features...what else has heated seats and mirrors standard for under 18k? the interior is incredible, i don't know how they can sell this car for what they do Primary Use: Commuting to work

Prosgood handling, pretty roomy ConsMPG not as good as I'd like for a manual transmission.

The Lil Rabbit That Could. — The Rabbit is a great car. While not as powerful nor performance driven as the GTI or the R32, it definitely gets the job done and is a fun car to tool around in. The cornering is really impressive, even stock. Second gear is where the power kicks in. I've found that you get slightly better MPG performance with the ASR off - which is their anti-skid protection. I will say that bringing it into the dealership for it's check-ups can be pricey, but, I haven't had any mechanical issues with it at all for the past 2 years.

Vw Rabbit Is A Great Transporter — I bought this car thinking I would tolerate a small car to save on gas compared to driving my 3/4 ton truck. Well, I certainly save on gas (although not as good as promised) but I actually love the car. You feel like you are driving a sports car. You can haul a few hockey players and their equipment. The german engineering is precise and responsive. I really think this is the best small car you could own. Primary Use: Family transportation

ProsGreat handling (with lowered suspension) ConsSome minor rattles (because of firmer ride)

Sporty And Practical Car — Great car! Amazing handling with the Koni Yellows and H&R springs. Excellent interior and very high quality for the price. Also a super reliable ride; I've had the car for 2 years (it was 1 year old when I bought it) and has not had a single problem. I get around 27 mpg on average, which includes highway and city driving, and the car still does 0-60 in 6.9 seconds and goes up to 140 mph... not bad (with APR software and Neuspeed Air Intake which increase BHP to about 175). Oh yeah, thanks for putting the frame in my way volkswagen. My axle is mating with it. Primary Use: Commuting to work

I Want To Buy Another One — No one has really taken this car to its potential in performance and looks, but witht he upgrades, this is a "get it all done in one sha-bang" type of car. beautiful design and great sounding engine when its opened up properly again vw has the ergonomics down to a tee. loved long spirited drives with this wabbit Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

I Love My Rabbit! — I love my Rabbit! It's reliable, so far the best car I have owned. Has upgrades that you can buy for it at anytime, it's low cost to maintain. I love the appearance both interior and exterior, and the car handles like a dream as far as front wheel drive goes, so I'm sure to have fun driving it! LOL! Primary Use: Commuting to work |
