2007 Toyota Avalon Trims and Specs

The Toyota Avalon will not receive any significant updates for 2007, but a tire-pressure monitor is now available on all models. The XL is the base level trim for Toyota's flagship sedan. This modestly equipped Avalon is comparable in price to a mid-level trim Camry. The XL includes a power driver's seat, telescoping steering wheel, power windows and locks, keyless entry, and a CD player as standard.

Despite a lower price, the Avalon XL uses the same engine and transmission technology as all other models. The VVT-i-enhanced engine is paired with a five-speed electronically controlled transmission, abbreviated as ECT-i. The i is again for intelligence.

The 3500 pound Avalon is not only quick, but it is also fuel efficient. The full size sedan boasts an EPA rating of 22/31 mpg. The new Dual VVT system also earns the Avalon ULEV ultra low emissions status.

Like most Toyotas, almost every available safety feature is standard. All Avalons are equipped with Electronic Brake-force Distribution, ABS, driver's knee airbag, side curtain airbags, and the advanced Child Restraint System. Toyota's Vehicle Stability Control with Traction Control and Brake Assist is optional on all models.

The Toyota Avalon is almost unchanged for 2007, except for the addition of tire-pressure sensors to all models. The Touring version is the Toyota flagship's second tier trim with respect to price, but it provides the most sport-focused performance of any Avalon. An optional navigation system is available with the Touring trim for the first time this year.
