2007 Porsche Boxster S Review
ProsPerhaps the least expensive for a Porsche, but certainly not the least fun. ConsIf you need a 4 seater convertible, no choice.

Porsche Badge + Open Air + Singing Exhaust = Boxster — Performance - 3.4L 295bhp is gives you enough thrust in most town and highway driving situations in Japan. Build Quality - Beautiful leather trim. The car feels firm- caged and rattle-free despite a convertible body. Appearance - Like the front. Not much at the rear. Cost of Ownership - Nothing failed in 30,000km. Logs 10km/L on highways. 6km/L on city driving. Fun Factor - Get the roof down and even a quick ride to the Seven-Eleven around the corner gives you a smile. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Should Have Bought It When I Was Younger. — Injured my back after one tank of gas. Well, my back was already bad, but it made it so much worse. Tragic because I LOVE driving this car. When I bought it, I thought I would be driving it for the next 10 years. Primary Use: Commuting to work

My Boxter 2007 — Really good fun in all weather conditions, quick responce and very good handling, fantastic build quality and excellent value for money, older models hold there value very well and are sort after, cheap on servicing as only every 2 years or 20k miles. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

ProsReveals itself to an even higher level after owning one. Way more trunk space than others in class. ConsThe price increases exponentially for performance cars. This is a good example.

Tell Me Who Your Friends Are And I Will Tell You Who You Are — I believe that the reviews given by the respected car magazines have done a good job already. Read up on it. Owning one is even better, as you get to know the car and become familiar with its handling capabilities. I confess I was not a Porsche guy. I was more into BMW cars. I still love them, but I am now enlightened as to what a Porsche is. Think of who owns them and what their other choices in life are. If you think about that, the consistency there describes the essence of these cars.

Love At First Sight — Its a wonderfull thing walking into a Porsche garage, if you've ever got a spair couple of hours-just walk in and walk around-take a seat in one; its fun-if your a sad man like me;-) I don't know where to start really-they say that Porsche designers are the laziest car designers in the world. Looking at the Boxster, particularly the Mark2-the one I have-you can trace the lines back to the 550 Spyder (the one that got the better of James Dean), but if you look at the 550 Spyder you wonder why they hadn't done it before. I think the days of old where you used to see yuppys driving round in their Porsches down the King's Road or Fleet Street with their whacking great brick mobile phones are over. Ostentatiousness has become the byword for Ferrari drivers, Pagani Zonda drivers and even those TVR drivers etc.........whilst in this time Porsche has become more refined-more subtle, your more likely to blend into the crowd in a Porsche these days-its become what Mercedes was for the executive car sector ten years ago-a mark of subtle quality over the riff-raff BMW-Ferrari drivers trying to show off their wealth and lack of taste. Enough pontificating about the brand-the car is solid, I drove the BMW Z4 and felt it was in a car made out of tin foil-the Boxster feels solid but agile, you know you could take a bump in it but at the same time you feel you got the power and the agility to get out of a situation. The engine develops 245bhp from a 2.7 liter engine which gives it enough power but not excessive amounts and even then you got double the Bhp of any Golf Gti. After 50years of making rear wheeled sports cars Porsche engineers know how to solve handeling problems, this just handels like a dream.

Great Day-to-day Sports Car Roadster — "Perfect Fit" for everyday use. This car is a great middle of the road sports car. It's no way near 911 or Lotus handling, but it's definitely a cut above your average sports car. Great for daily driver, easy on the pocket book as it gets decent mileage and puts a smile on your face while running around town. Interior is very comfortable, top goes up/down smoothly and all controls are in perfect alignment.
