Able to handle tougher road and weather conditions than its front-wheel drive sibling, the 2007 Pontiact Torrent AWD is a mid-size crossover SUV with seating for five in two rows of seats. Its all-wheel drive capability is accompanied by a limited slip differential, and is powered by a 3.4-liter, 185-hp V6 and 5-speed automatic transmission. No manual is available. ABS brakes, traction control, a tire monitor, skid plates, and dual front-side airbags are standard. StabiliTrak and a rollover sensor are new safety features this year.
Other than its four-wheel drive performance, the 2007 Pontiac Torrent AWD has the same features as the 2WD, including a trip computer, power equipment, keyless entry, front and rear intermittent wipers, air conditioning, and a CD player with MP3 input. Rear seats roll forward and back to increase legroom or cargo room as needed, as well as split-fold. A roof rack is also standard. Option packages offer heated leather seats, a power sunroof, remote start, power driver's seat, auto-dimming rearview mirror cruise control, satellite radio, DVD player, and navigation system. Drivers like the style and interior roominess and comfort, but would like more horsepower.
