Its pouncing curvy looks and open top demanded more power, and in 2007 the Pontiac Solstice convertible gets it with the new Solstice GXP. The 2007 Solstice GXP rips with a 2.0-liter, turbocharged DOHC I4 Ecotec engine that hits 260-hp. It is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, though a 5-speed auto tran is also available. The new GXP has nods to street racing performance, with a sport-tuned suspension, limited slip differential, dual exhaust tips, and 18-inch alloy wheels. They are not the all-season tires that the base model has, however. ABS and StabiliTrak control are standard, as are foglights, daytime running lights, dual front airbags, and a security system.
Though still trying to keep the car lightweight, the 2007 Solstice GXP comes with a trip computer, power locks, windows, and mirrors (and a 2-way driver's seat), cruise control, keyless entry, and leather trim for the wheel and shifter. A CD player with MP3 input jack is standard, and audio and cruise controls are on the steering wheel. The soft top is manually removed, but the rear glass window does come with a defogger. Air conditioning is only an option, as are OnStar, satellite radio, a rear spoiler, a 6-CD changer, and leather seats. Road hugging action, great power and handling, and sexy looks reign supreme among owners of the 2007 Pontiac Solstice GXP. Lack of trunk space, spare tire, or storage compartments, and inconvenient cupholders are downsides.
